GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) - 24-Hour News 8 got a first look at hundreds of guns tied to two tragedies that are set to hit the auction block Sunday.

The arsenal belonged to Gary Roberts, who was shot and killed by his wife after she said he threatened to shoot at police.

More than a month later, Elizabeth Roberts, who was not prosecuted for the shooting, was found dead of an apparent overdose.

The collection includes world-class shotguns, rifles and hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition. The collection is getting world-wide attention.

"I've done a lot of gun auctions, but this is the largest amount of ammunitions I've ever seen and the largest amount of world class guns sold in Indiana in 25 years, if not longer," Earl Cornell, President of Ealr's Auction Company said. "The situation behind this, we are trying our best for the family because they have been through enough in the past four, five or six weeks."

The live auction starts at 11 a.m. Sunday at Earl's Auction Company, on Lafayette Road in Indianapolis.

Gun auction expected to pull in seven figuresINDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 1, 2013) — “You’ve got about $3 million worth of weapons and ammunition here,” said gun enthusiast Richard Moyer as he looked around Earl’s Auction Company on North Lafayette Road. “It took him probably 35-40 years to gather all this up.” The parking lot was jammed with trucks bearing license plates from some 20 states.
