Hi Guys,

Need some help regarding the front flip up sight on my 17S.

Probably stupidity error on my part, but I think I'm trying to flip the sight up properly. The front sight is down. I am sliding the round spring lever forward towards the end of the muzzle, but the sight will not flip up.

Am I missing something? (By the way, my E.A.C.H. from Sarge in both Black and FDE. They came out great!)

Thanks in advance,

Rok

The folding sights are manually operated. Simply push up on the locking lever as you were doing before and rotate the front sight up or down as needed.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the help. Can you guys confirm if I have a defective front sight?

1. Front sight is in the down position.
2. Pushing the spring loaded round button/locking lever forward, towards the muzzle. At the same time I'm trying to pull the front sight up, but it won't budge?

Any ideas?

Do I need to loosen the hex screw to the right of the round locking lever? Although that hex screw just appears to be related to mounting the sight.

Try a lil elbow grease. the sight seems like it doesnt want to move but in reality its just very stiff. The hex screw is for adjusting the front sight assembly for windage.

Very strange... Watch this-

This guy does it very easy. There are several other vids below that one that may be able to help you as well. Push the tab forward and while keeping it pushed, rotate the sight upwards. Put some ummph in it if need be. It should go up.

UPDATE: MYSTERY SOLVED ON FRONT SITE ISSUE

Thank you for the feedback guys. Turns out that, as other members have stated, the front sight is extremely stiff the first couple times you try to flip the front sight up.

Pulling a little harder and the first couple times finally got the front sight to flip up. Now flips up much easier.

This forum is the best! Thanks a lot guys.
