Hey, Midwest Industries, I have an idea. UPDATE: A cut has been made!
INSTALLED!
Well it's pretty much just what I needed. A little more room, but not too much. It puts the WML the perfect distance out without making my hand feel cramped. Come on, MI. Get on it!

I used a chop saw. It was very clean. When I get home from my trip, I'll knock down the sharp edges with a stone and install it. I'll paint the edges with some extra FDE spray paint I have in the closet.

I have an MI rail for my SCAR, but it's really too long for my needs. I just want a LITTLE extra rail space, like found on the Branham rail, but except...you know...AVAILABLE. If you chopped your rail down to cover just the area below the gas block, (right before the L/R47 engraving on mine) you'd really hit the sweet spot for people who want to add a few things but not a whole rail. This would fill the gap between single side rail extensions and a full handguard. Also, you could remove the QD and add one more rail slot. I'd rather add my own where I want it, anyhow, which is, for me, further to the rear of the OEM rail, and low. I use a magpul QD on mine.
