When did you buy your Scar or do you know how old it is?

Has it been banged around that you know of?
True. Not really sure who would "bang around" a battle rifle. :icon_eh:

I'm not very nice to it. The normal bounding, 3-5 second rushes, rough handling. I shoot suppressed now for about 500 rounds. The crack does not go all the way through. Round count is probably in the thousands.
Several BTDT guys on the "other" forum have claimed that this has been an issue with the SCAR from the get-go. I've never seen any actual evidence of stock/hinge plate fracture until now...There might be some truth to the claims.

Do you have your own land to shoot on when doing the bounding or is that just in your yard type exercise?

On the hinge, that's a weird spot for a crack. You'd expect it to crack on the other side if it's from impact of the carrier. I can't even see how you would hit the stock and crack just that lip.

I hope you get feeling better. Sorry dude, your rifle is being a b****. Tell your rifle to drink some water and walk it off.

I'm sure FN will make it right. BTW and fwiw I thought I saw a replacement hinge somewhere out on the net, anyone? (Lazy)I researched the scars before eliminating it in my search for ala round weapon. Damn things cost so much at that time. I'll add link if I find it or someone beats me to it.

(Sure you already know about this, sorry of it's redundant)
I'm sure there are others on the forum, producers, just don't think they can advocate themselves openly without trouble.

$200 for the FDE one.

Even those guys charge more for FDE. :p It does look cool though. If it was $30 I would get one for my 17 and 16.

Yeah, some of ya all can afford it. Fde= Like diamond's to the ladies, but for your rifle.

Again still green with envy...
however, I also found an adapter that uses the "ACR" butstock. Here, it's an abomination but it's an option.
