I pulled the moving parts assembly out of one of my 17's and compressed it till coil bind of the spring and it took considerable force to reach spring coil bind. I don't know how many pounds of force it was, maybe someone with a appropriate scale could test and report back with a number.

Do that on top of a body weight scale. No special tool is really needed.

I kind of thought the overgassed issue would of been negated with the the adjustable settings on the gas block? Could it be a hotter than recommended subsonic load? Does FN even recommended anything? If this issue really boils down to replacing plastic with metal then I think my wallet is going to hate me again ahaha!

Do you see how many people are complaining about the stock hinge breaking?

I certainly don't remember anyone else having issue with the plate.
