:p If 1 has a pistol and want to put a stock on it then 1 needs a SBR stamp since it is now a short barreled rifle. but then when 1 wants to take the stock off and mount it (pistol) underneath an AR it now is a AOW and that need also a stamp.

But then 1 wants to mount a vertical hand-guard on the pistol either off or on the rifle does 1 need another stamp?
So how many stamps would be needed to cover all 3 scenarios?

Thank's:th_shrug:

Now that's funny. :-D
Whats even funnier is trying to get a straight answer from the BATFE.
They put out stupid regulations then reverse their decisions.

If the BATFE were to properly make calls to begin with, ie refuse to enforce the unconstitutional USC NFA, Hughes, and other such unconstitutional amendments of their own volition and free will, that is the only time I would place my trust in them.

I wish people stop asking atf anything it just opens up rulings to more of their bull$hit

Good point.
I suggested the CLEO because it is the local law enforcement who would be enforcing the laws and as such, making the decisions if citations and/or arrests are within their powers.

Youre right, asking the BATFE is like a sheep asking a wolf not to eat him.
Look what happened to the SigBrace. The then BATF said it was OK but reversed their regulatory descision when they became the BATFE under the DOJ.

When in doubt, try asking your local CLEO. They should be well versed in NFA laws and regs in and from the USC
Most local LEO's really dont know any NFA rules unless they are into NFA stuff. And the CLEO usually knows even less. Most local cops never encounter NFA situations.

Reason I am asking is I have a AR pistol and I do know if I added a hand-guard I would need a AOW but I thought if I got a SBR then I could put on a stock and a h guard or either or but it would no longer be a pistol so I could no longer carry it open and or would have probs going across State lines!

However said gun is also being able to be attached underneath an AR and even with a SBR Stamp I really doubt it would be legal to attach it without some other Stamp!:th_shrug::-o

You would need SBR it to add a stock and you are correct it would now longer be a pistol and you would have to do a 5320.20 for crossing state lines. If you just want to attach it under another gun then it would be an AOW. But why limit yourself with the AOW just SBR it. Since the same rules would apply to an AOW regarding the transportation.

Next thing we will know the atf will be banning the zip assault weapon system. That will boost the sales! That scary fhg, a long range scope and a collapsible stock. It's given senator whatshername and me willies... Sorry I'm being sarcastic.
But it'd need a 22 suppressor and a spotting scope mounted to the top. I'd do it.

Btw I'd put a cargo rack with aux lights on a lambo, and replace all the wheels with donuts, sticker bomb it and park it in Hollywood.

i don't like Los- Hollywood. I don't like LA I don't think souther Cali like it either.

Reason I was asking is had a AR Pistol for yrs. always wanted to put h guard on it didn't want to be bothered with either AOW or SBR last yr got http://www.airborne-shop.com/upload/save_image/07182345_53c933208335a.jpg which is fantastic and no Stamp needed, then I got the Sig Brace and could not have been happier but now I cant shoulder it anymore and don't think the Brace will ever be legal to shoulder again, so I am simply weighing all options!

Just trying to stay legal since this is my favorite setup, also since the gun does not have buffer tube and a top rail which allows mounting on another rifle I think I would need a AOW stamp for it if I mounted it?

That is simply why I would like to know!:th_confused0024:

Thank's

FYI! Zip stock, scope, etc.. is already avail for SBR like any gun and they are working on fold stock and many other type of interesting gadgets for it, just as any other gun.
