The February Guns&Ammo article on the FNP 45 sure seemed to imply that it was.

Could this have been the reason for the long delay in it's introduction?

The USG model FNP-45 will be FN's submission if the US DOD decides to compete the contract for a new service pistol. The only thing it doesn't have right now is a threaded barrel for those of us that live in "free" states.
