Kinetic Development Group - MREX Rail Review (5 out of 5!)
Hi Folks - I want to share with you some of my experiences with the KDG MREX non-MLOK 6.5" rail for my SCAR 17s.
First, the good. The rail makes the over-all rifle much sleeker and easier to maneuver. It does not decrease accuracy (nor increase it). The build of the rail is solid and quality is nice.
Second, the bad. Customer service is non-existent. I have been trying to get in contact w/ them since Monday, still no reply at all. I have emailed and called. Why was I calling? 2 out of the 4 side screw holes do not match the upper. My rail is currently held in place by the lower rail screw, and 2 side screws. My 17S is a standard 17s w/ no other modifications except for a Giselle trigger, purchased very recently.
Overall, I think the rail is ok. I guess 3 out of 5 screws holding it together is ok as well. I put around 40 rounds through it so far and the zero didn't drift, so that's good. Will I rip this "OK" rail off as soon as something better comes along? Absolutely.
Hope this helps someone out there making a decision on rails for their 16 and 17.
