EXCERPT: Leupold’s new DeltaPoint Pro has been in the wild for awhile now having undergone live environment evaluation with a variety of shooters including a brief appearance at last Summer’s ‘Fuerzas Comandos’ in Colombia with the 7th SFG(A) team. I got my first look at the mini red dot sight last Summer as well at Leupold’s factory in Beaverton, Oregon and later was able to spend some time on the range with it at Spartan Tactical near Fort Worth. I have to say that I was rather pleased with sight. When I originally saw the integrated rear sight over the Summer I was pretty leery, concerned that it would be a distraction, but once I was able to actually use it the rear sight was very functional and I was able to transition between DeltaPoint Pro and irons quite easily.

Had a bad experience with the original Deltapoint but perhaps I'll give
this one a chance to redeem my opinion of Leupold red dot sights.

My only interest in these sights is to mount on my Glocks(which beats the snot out of an RDS) so I think I'll wait a couple years and make sure they worked the bugs out before handing over a car payment worth of my hard earned money.

One of these uber tacticool guys who shoots 20,000rds of pistol ammo every 6 months needs to mount one, run the snot out of it and document the whole affair before I'll trust a Leupold RDS.

Top cover access battery, protective shroud, optional iron sight and no more locking screws yet don't have to worry about reticule shift. What's not to love? I can't think of a miniature red dot on the market that can match this PRO.
