Liberty doesn't list a barrel length. They also state that velocity is > 2000FPS. They could have used a 4" barrel for all we know.As always a very interesting test Buffman! However how do u explain on avg. getting 220 fps more than was claimed? If the ammo does what u got, they would list it as such (High selling point) I usually do get within 35-50 fps as listed but never got a difference of 220 fps! Once I use the "Conversion Tables" I always have been within the listed fps ranges, but when I don't use them than depending on many variables I can easily be off by 100 fps + or - depending mainly on dist. from target, outside temps, elevation, humidity, barometric pressure etc....
Something here doesn't add up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's a lot of powder in there 7.9gr. Extra barrel, more burn time. Gun Runnerz got 2200 fps as well:I also have the Liberty ammo in 9mm & .40 but sadly just have not had time to do any velocity tests lately! However after watching test form other known and respected persons, it seems to be the consensus Liberty uses a 4" barrel since then these folks have got the 2K fps listed.
U used a 5" barrel which would account for a higher velocity however a 1' barrel length would not increase it by 220 fps but maybe 50-75 fps at best!
Hank around 2100+ fps or so.hey buffman, how fast does ss198 go out of the pistol on average?
They 1st two I would expect, on recoil it says greatly reduced!Son bought some for his 45 and shot a mag through yesterday at a steel silhouette. First thing I noticed was the plate did not move all that much, second was the round left a copper colored mark on the plate and disintegrated, third was he said the recoil was
notable (G30S).
