I am looking to pick up a old Marlin lever action 22 the model is 39A. It is very good condition. I need to know what it is worth before I make a offer. I have the serial number if thats needed to determine a fair value for me to pay. The serial number is L 19XXX

Starting in 1973, the year of manufacture can be determined by subtracting the first two digits of the serial number from 100: Example: SN 2512345 would have been made in 1975 [100 - 25 = 75].

I had an old Marlin 39A. It was my Dad's gun as a kid. I then grew up with it and now it belongs to my son as his first gun.
