I will say that the first several mags with the Mk3 made me feel a little clueless until I started to understand how to aim it. I hadn't read about the apparent POA differences between 198/195 and 197 either until I discovered them on my own. I have chosen SS198 as my champion (matches factory sight settings also) until someone has an equal or better alternative I can actually find and BUY at a moderately sane price.

By the second range session, I was nailing the high value areas on the thug on my hostage targets easily at range and the penetration + terminal performance of 198 is formidable. Fortunately I stocked up fairly well last year at a normal price (well, $1/rd, looks GREAT now...).

Also disappointed I couldn't buy FN's kydex holster for the MK3, but I ordered the basically identical model direct from ANR and found double mag pouches on ebay. So will be ready to rock.

Gotcha.
I committed to stocking up on 195 and 198.
To be honest, I am really glad that I committed to this pistol early. The reason is that it got me to focus on buying primarily leadfree ammo. Now, I know there are a lot of folks who will roll their eyes, but I got little ones at home. Lead exposure is a real thing....there is no denying it. I am really careful with cleaning protocols including using hero wipes, but still....

I digress.

It sounds like you got a solid plan for shooting! Awesome sauce!!
Yes, $1/rd sure looks good now.

Edit: I just did a quick check on 195 prices, and the cost per round has gone down a lot.

Around Nov of '22, you could find 198 and 195 for $1/rd. But now 195 is more like $0.80/rd and 198 is $unobtanium/rd. 😵

I've spent some range time lately adjusting the rear sight for 195 and it seems to have stopped early in the UP direction. I've got around 10 clicks UP but would like more, but it now seems utterly unclickable as if stuck. I've seen photos of some where the rear is adjusted much higher than mine. So it's aggravating. Granted, this is the first pistol I've have with a suppressor height front, so I have to get used to the front post being much higher than the rear to shoot as I am accustomed to.

I'm glad at least the groups are tight, but I'm usually a natural iron sights guy. In this case the MRD is probably the preferred setup and I look forward to that.

To this day, the easiest pistol for me to shoot with irons is my Browning Hi-Power. I wouldn't dream of modifying it for an MRD and wouldn't care about adding it to a new version of the HP either. I never even had to adjust the rear much at all as the factory settings were excellent.

I modified old model mags with the dremel and it shots well, as long as it is not for ccw or home defense - I don't care!
