When MSNBC's Thomas Roberts announced the new line of Duck Commander guns on January 3rd, he was joined by Len Everett of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. Everett claimed Phil Robertson, of Duck Dynasty fame, made his controversial comments to sell guns to conservative, middle-aged, white males and criticized the Robertson family for selling the kinds of guns used in mass shootings. Roberts used leading questions to guide Everett in making these points throughout the segment.
For example, Roberts introduced Everett by pointing out that the new line of guns includes a "semi-automatic pistol" and "two semi-automatic rifles." Moreover, "the pistol and one of the rifles have military style designs with large capacity magazines holding at least 25 rounds."

It took them longer than I expected to come out against this and attack the Robertsons and guns... I suppose they were too busy trying to suppress all of the other stories negative to this administration along with the idiot global warming scientists trapped in the ice.

I'm sure some marketing genius will tell me I'm wrong, but why would I want to buy a gun from someone who flaunts their ignorance on TV, and whose expertise in life is making wooden duck calls? What about any of this gives me a warm fuzzy feeling that these guys know what they are talking about. I see their expertise on duck hunting as being on par with Rodney Dangerfield's expertise on golf in Caddyshack.

The same reason endorsements exist for anything else? Whether earned or of any value or not, people tend to trust people they like. That and some people just want to use the same one so and so uses. That is the sole purpose of endorsement/signature models of anything.

I'm not a hunter of any thing other than good gun deals. I am a career police officer, a father and a husband. I can only relate to the Robertson family as my side of our family is somewhat hillbilly-ish. I enjoy their show. I believe they are good people with good morals and values and I'm sure that they play more on the hillbilly/redneck side than they actually are. There is nothing wrong with making duck calls for a living as they have proven it by their success.
Look, people actually watch shows like Honey Boo Boo and we hear nothing bad about that show.
In reference to their gun line, I believe the guns are made by a gun manufacturer and Duck Dynasty just puts their label on it. Alot of companies do this and yet DD is the only one condemned for it.
Anti-gunners can suck it!

Nothing wrong with knowing how to make a duck call or make money from it. Good for them.

My point was that this does not qualify them as experts on making guns. I do admit that in the story it wasn't clear if they had their own line of guns (which is what I reacted to), or if they were endorsing someone else's guns which is pure marketing.

I make dish soap for a living.

On the side, I dabble in gun stuff.

I like it as it lets me rub elbows with really cool people like the Robertsons.

MSNBC is full of socialists and I would expect nothing less from them.

I will be so glad when the moronic hillbilly fad wears off. I guess Mossberg will be switching from stupid zombie crap to inbred hillbilly crap. I caught about 3 minutes of their show on accident while channel surfing the other day and I could not understand the appeal to these guys. I have been against the fake posturing and scripted stupidity of reality tv since the beginning, but it is out of control now. I know different people are entertained by different things, but the whole Southern dip**** fad has me boggled. There is an old saying, "act like a dumbass and they will treat you as an equal". I am proud to be from the south and I'm sick of the stereotypes portrayed by the honey boo boo's and duck douches of the world. Congratulations on making a fine product guys, now go away please.
