Muzzle device swap... Easy peasy, thanks to this forum!

The PWS comp is gone (which will please anyone shooting around me), AAC Blackout MITER installed... Love the now very pleasant shooting experience. Of note, maybe concern, was how easy the PWS came off. My buddy and I were expecting a fight but the factory installed comp seemed to be only hand tight, requiring only a slight amount of pressure to unseat. Didn't notice any Loctite/Rocksett/etc. as well, threads were perfectly clean after removal. Went ahead and prepped the threads, readied the rocksett, and torqued to spec. Again love the result!

Big mahalo to the forum members that share their tips & techniques, making it easy for us noobs :MM:

The crush washer acts like a lock washer. I would expect it to be more than hand tight though, did you actually remove it by hand? Many times removing something with a wrench you think, "this is loose enough, let me try by hand...nope, still too tight".

Didn't even think to, after reading various threads I figured we'd need a large adjustable or open-end with a cheater... That's what we used. Placed the open-end over the flats (protected with e. tape) and as the cheater was installed the comp simply rotated loose. We looked a each other & laughed, one of those "that was easy" moments. Betting the comp swap on his 17S won't be nearly as easy but who can say ;)

Again Mahalo
