Hi everyone.

Here my new SCAR 17S

I have 2 questions

I've been surprised to see the bolt.

Do you have an explanation for that?

Is it normal? If yes, what is his utility?

And I have found inside the lower, an horrible cut?

What is that?

Do you have the same on yours?

Thanks for your help

Both those are normal. The lower is shipped to the US with a pin that prevents accepting a magazine. Once it arrives the pin is ground out. Yours made the trip across the water twice, that why your looks that way. Sort of a "there and back again" scar on your SCAR.

Here's info on the bolt.

Both the 16 and 17 have the bolt notch and for the same reasons.

And the grinding in the mag well...........Akitainu is correct, it's a mag block pin required for importing and once here in the US it's ground down by FNH USA so std mags can be used.

The fn sling was too narrow and uncomfortable, I'd recommend an urban ert sling or blue force. Don't forget to upgrade that trigger also
When I was in US past July, I have visited two gun shops in Virginia. And I found a blue force sling for my M4 Bushmaster. It's a very very excellent sling.
I take the fn sling just for the collection.
The urban ert sling for Scar is an excellent idee

But other question what is the sling in service for the scar in the US ARMY
