Hey everyone!

So, went down and paid off the rest of my 17, could not be happier with it. Going to be hopefully putting some rounds through it this weekend to zero my optic and break her in a little >

How she was picked up (Bought used with 20 rounds through her, so, basically new)

Then after a few moments, the Vortex Viper PST went on, UTG bi pod, and Magpul angled grip went on.

The Viper PST is currently only temporary until I get a Viper HS LR 4-16x50 for her, and may or may not being shipped off to get a Krptek Typhoon cerakote job done.

And lastly, just a picture of the happy family.

When I get them both down to the range this weekend I'll post up some more pictures!

Thanks everyone! Went down today and got some ammo for this weekend, unfortunetly the range only goes out to 300yds so I cant really put it through some good tests but its far enough to at least have fun!

300 yards is just right to get acclimated to the iron sights! I was hitting a thirty inch plate @300 after only twelve shots to zero the very first time I took my 17 out of the box. SCAR iron sights are superb, you can become proficient with minimal training.

Well it's almost time to invest into dedicated glass for the Scar. I took off my Viper 1x4 to be put on my AR build, and now am stuck between two options for the Scar.

First Option:
Vortex Viper PST 4x16

Second Option:
Vortex Viper PST 2.5x10

I'm leaning more towards the 4x16 but I'm not fully committed yet. Decisions decisions..

congrats and welcome to SCAR. Get a 16 and you'll be set for anything. 16 a lot cheaper to shoot too!

hey, maybe you wanted contrast on that magpul angle grip, but I'm pretty sure they make in black too, if you want.

I use a Nightforce 2.5x10x32 on my 17. works perfectly for me, and I had a red dot canted at 45 degrees for any up close shots...requires practice to roll onto the sight, but you can catch on quickly I'm sure.
best of luck to you, there are SCARs and then there is every other type of 5.56 and 7.62 rifle!

Yeah that angled grip came off of my AR that had a bunch of FDE on it. It's going to be coming off soon lol

I've been looking into a few angled sights, for my Scar once I get its new optic and AR, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. We'll see what happens further down the line!

I have the Vortex PST 2.5-10 and it works well for me.

Added some MagPul rail covers to her and removed the angled grip.. nothing crazy. But getting close to pulling the trigger on an optic.
