Man I've been debating on getting a 6.8 or the 6.5 but I'd like to see some more intrest by the government types, ya know. My fear is I'll buy one and end up with another weapon that only has one or two ammo makers. I wish SOCOM or MARSOC would adopt one as their standard issue.
I'm actually really wanting a 260 Remington AR more than a 6.8spl or 6.5 Grendel.
Maybe it hasn't caught on because the military because the 260 Remington is a 308 casing necked down to a 605 bullet. They probably figure the the better flight of the 6.5 is not enough to justify adding a new caliber to the mix. I don't know.
The Grendel has a shorter and fatter casing so even though the shorter round allows the use of a shorter action, the large shoulder may cause feeding issues.
Well if I could have my druthers it would be a .338 spectre. Which is a 10mm case necked for the .338 round, although the round only goes 1500 FPS. The big difference is they offer a 180 gr, 200, gr, 250 gr and a 300 gr round for these. Thats got the hit like a hammer.
