I purchased a used Scar16 last year and I am looking to get a 10" barrel or get my barrel cut down. Would someone be kind enough to walk me through the process. I would like to obtain this in the quickest/easies way possible. Thank you for your time!

disclaimer: I don't own a SBR

However, I believe the process is:

1) get your Form 1 approved first
2) get your receiver engraved (upper for a 16s)
3) THEN chop your barrel/buy the replacement and assemble your SBR

If you start on #3 before the Form1 is approved, that's how you get into trouble. Wait on your engraving also, since you want to make sure it's approved before you modify your receiver.

IMO ..engrave first ,this way if for any reason a mistake is made you won't have to start over. Then put it on the form1,then construct only after stamp arrives. Can be done online. Takes 6-10 months. Good information on this subject can be found in several threads on multiple forums. Just search a little

If you have a trust, efile is definitely the way to go right now.

I file the eForm1 then drop it off at my engravers the next day. That way it's out of the way. I hate waiting an additional week after receiving the approved Form 1. But that's just me. I have patience issues.
