I have a bit of an ADD problem and at times I get ocd about stuff. I researched for a solid month before deciding on the handgun that I felt would be exactly what I wanted. Then I spent another 2 weeks looking for the gun. I finally ordered it online and I picked it up this morning. I've not shot it yet since I lost my cleaning kit in a recent move.

I plan to go look at new cleaning supplies tomorrow and then go shoot a couple hundred rounds. I grew up around my grandpa and dad being hunters so I have a lot of respect for firearms. I bought my fnx to replace my hipoint c9.

Any recommended type of ammo for break in? Also hoppes will be great for it as well correct ? I'm wanting to overly pamper this gun.

Welcome to the forum. I wouldn't be too picky about break in ammo. Any FMJ brass from a name brand mfg. like Winchester, Federal, or Remington will do just fine. Stay away from steel case ammo IMHO. If you intend to use it for SD, then also run a couple hundred rounds of good HP ammo through to be sure it feeds reliably. Happy shooting.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone I have a buffet of ammo to test out in the gun to see what It and I like.

I'm hoping the federal 115grn ALUMINUM cased ammo will be worth having. I don't plan to reload (yet but I've thought about it current living situation limits it for the next year) so I wont really be saving my brass. I shoot outside on private property so alot of brass will be lost. 20 cents a round if it's nice I plan to buy more.

I have federal bulk, winchester white box, tul brass max, federal aluminum, zq 123 grain, and winchester 124 grain. I went on a shopping spree you could say... either way the gun should be well broken in as soon as the snow melts.

lol my "other gun" hated WWB but loved the federal bulk. I figured worth a try since I've not seen the federal bulk in awhile and will be shooting my leftover boxes of it. Like I said I have high hopes for that aluminum federal as cheap as it is. I don't want to use steel but aluminum should be fine.

Thanks again everyone. Is it bad I've yet to shoot it?! ... I have no excuse I have private land 2 minutes to the north and 8 minutes to the south with free access to shoot whenever. ... I'm just sick of the cold this winter.
