Hi New guy here always been a Sig guy but I just picked up an FNX 45T. I was just curious if I needed the cross slot mount or all mount version of the DeltaPoint. Thanks!

The FNXT's slide is milled only for either the Docter optics or Trijicon RMR. Don't know if any base for the Deltapoint would work.

So I called Leupold and they said that the Deltapoint Pro does not require a mounting base and the rear locking screws have been removed. So DeltaPoint Pro is 100% ready for the FNX 45-T

:welcomesigntb3:to the Forum, make sure you pick up the PRO, there was a problem on the Deltapoint's predecessor because the rear iron sight blocked access to the "adjustment lock screws". Please post a picture when you get it mounted, :icon_thumbup:

I have been on the lookout for the Deltapoint Pro for a while. Is it available anywhere except the Leupold store? They don't appear to be up for purchase at Brownells, Midway, Cabela's, etc.

I was excited about the Deltapoint 2, but I'm worried about the DP Pro. It looks like it has that tinted look to the glass that I absolutely cannot stand (like the RMR). The original DP was perfectly crystal clear!

This came from Leupold directly "The Deltapoint 2 is no longer coming out because this March we are releasing the new Deltapoint Pro."

A little bit of clarification: there are two things you will need to correct in order to mount the DP Pro in the FNX factory milled slide. First, about 1mm of material will need to be shaved off either the DP Pro or the slide. The front of the optic is rounded so there is a point that is about 1mm too long to fit in the factory milled area. Shaving material off the DP Pro is much easier and will not be noticable once it's mounted in the slide. See below.

The second issue is much easier to solve. Once you shave off the material, the DP Pro's screw holes perfectly line up with the smaller, inside holes of the FNX's milled slide. However, you will need new screws. The screws that come with the FNX are too short and the screws that come with the DP Pro are a metric size. You will need #5-40 x 5/8" long flat head machine screws. Alternatively, you could buy a 5-40 die and run the DP Pro's screws through it and re-cut the threads.

Definitely not "plug and play" but in my opinion, totally worth it. I'd take the DP Pro over the RMR any day. Small amount of work for the best micro red dot on the market.

Not at all. I will do it Monday or Tuesday. The product manager at Leupold reached out to me and I'm going to take it in to show them the fitment on the FNX (I live 10 minutes from their headquarters). After I show them, I'll post pictures of the modification.

Almost forgot to post these. Just posted in anothe thread. You can see that I filed down a small amount of the curved part to be flat and only on the bottom half. I confirmed with Leupold product specialists that the wall thickness of the aluminum is .04" (about 1mm). I filed less than .02" which was more than enough and it allows for plenty of wall thickness. Again, the Leupold product managers confirmed that it won't cause any issues with integrity. Worst case is that it may only be waterproof to 33' vs 66' or whatever. After filing it and test fitting it, I masked off the whole thing minus the small area I filed down and sprayed it with some flat black paint. Whole thing took less than an hour. Keep in mind that the filed part will sit against the wall of the slide so it will never been seen.

Deltapoint pro & fnx 45t

Does anyone have a solution to this? I would rather cut my slide rather than the optic. Curious. Please advise on the best course of action.
Thanks,
Ben

Now I know why... Deltapoint Pro website indicates that a mounting plate is coming for the FNX-45 Tactical. I sent a request to customer service to see if they had some sort of schedule. He didn't have a clue as to what I was asking about. Well, I guess if the optic won't fit in the slot, then there really isn't going to be a mounting plate. That is unless it's the thickness of the milled slot, which kind of defeats the purpose. Or, they redesign the optic body, which I don't see happening either.

well leupold lost my sale. wanted the deltapoint pro over the trijicon mostly for the easy battery replacement, but since they cant release a simple mounting plate for the 45 tactical, i'm going with the trijicon. that damn plate has been "coming soon" on leupold's site for 3 months now...

Do not alter the FNX-45T as it will void the warranty (FNH-USA). Leupold has a fast development cycle on the DeltaPoint product line; Three years ago DeltaPoint (out of production), DeltaPoint 2 (2014, no market release), DeltaPoint Pro is the current product (redesigned/improved DP2 was not released). In regards for a solution try the OP solution or wait for a mount from Leupold, purchase another brand or wait for the next DeltaPoint product.

Did you happen get those finished pictures?
I have a Deltapoint Pro and want to put it on my FNX,
Thanks,
Tony

OK, now that I ended up here from where I came into the discussion.
Is the information still good on using proper size screws and maybe a slight milling to the front of the optic? The base of the site seems to be too tall for a mounting plate, as it would block the iron sites. I purchased the site when the price dropped to $399.00 on many websites. Are they coming out with another model? I would be happy with this one, as long as I can co-witness.
Thanks,
Tony
