Well, I did it... I've wanted a Hi Power for some time now. I'm not a 1911 fancier, but I do have one. But the Hi Power, P35, or any other name it might be known by. I started to buy a Springfield SA35, but I heard a few poor reports and even BH Spring Solutions had to do quite a bit of work to make one reliable. One of my friends had an FNX 45 he sold to me. That's a wonderful pistol.
Right in the middle of me lusting for a P35 and almost buying a Springfield, FN brought out the High Power. With the FN reputation and the fact that I have an FN15 and an FNX 45, I was interested. At $1400 + or - it was pretty steep. I sold off a couple of other pistols; an unfired Pietro Beretta factory nickel .380 and a Sig P220, I had it. I ordered an FDE High Power, today. It's from right here in Florida, so I may well have it in just a couple of days.

Congrats! I have an FDE one too and I love it! It shoots really well. Ive only had it to the range once but put 300 rounds through it with zero issues. I took off the fde grips and put on the green grips and I really like how it looks. I would also like to find someone with a black model who would trade/sell me the factory black grips.

I tried the green grips, not my favorite. I hope I'll get to the range next week...
I have a pair of black, checkered G10 grips enroute, hopefully by Thursday (3/9).

I got to shoot this morning.... Here's my first magazine. This was from 10 yards.
Green Font Circle Gas Recreation

This pistol just wants to shoot into the same hole. It fits my hand well.
It was cold here, for Florida, about 52 or 53 degrees.
The empties went 8 to 10 feet straight to the right. I had hoped for a bit to the rear too.
The trigger is great, actually too light for carry. I have already ordered a set of springs to change
it to 4 to 4 1/2 pounds. The front and rear straps have very good checkering, it gives a good purchase
for shooting.

Since I got the new P35, I've been thinking about my Para Ordinance P13, 1911. I've had other 1911's, mostly Sigs.
I've had this P13 for over 40 years. It was my back-up and off duty piece when we went to the Sig P226. I wasn't in favor of the 9MM, so I got the 45, too. It's all steel and kinda heavy. I had the action and trigger gone through by a 1911 tech a few years ago, but only shot it a little, after I decided I wasn't a 1911 fancier.

Maybe I was a bit hasty in my decision, it's been calling to me. Now that it's all cleaned up,
I guess I'll HAVE to shoot it.....
