Hey folks. I'd like to get as much info from FN people as I can before I get into a new world (for me) of what appears to be fine firearms. I come from 1911s and Glocks but the Scar and FNS FN lines look VERY interesting. Also, my breakfast buddy EDCs an FNX. Maybe I'll be more interesting at breakfast.

Thanks. So much new-to-me stuff here. I certainly appreciate getting all this info and advice before getting involved in any new platform. So far, FN pistols look a lot more complicated than I am used to. More like Sigs, Walthers and HKs. Not that there is anything wrong with that -- its just that I am more comfortable carrying a pistol I can detail strip, clean and maintain. That being said, I always like shooting a quality gun of any breed.

Welcome!! The more the merrier. I'd say you can't go wrong with a Scar. It's a fantastic platform for anything. IMO it's only intimidating because it's not the normal AR and AK that you see at the range every weekend. I wish I would've gotten my Scar 17 before I bought my ARs and AKs because I would've just bought a 16 and 17 and been done with it.

I too come from a 1911 background. But after owning and using various firearms of different makes, I found that the FNH products are definitely one of the better ones.
