Just heard this on my local news:

Obama might choose Jennifer Granholm to be a Supreme Court justice if elected and a current member resigns/dies. She is currently the Michigan Governor, and I can say, she has done a ****ty, ****ty job running our state. About 6 years ago in her first state of the State address, she said we would be "blown away" with her economic policy of bringing businesses and jobs to the state. The opposite has happened. People are leaving the state. One of the few bright spots is in Grand Rapids, where I live. We are gaining a lot of jobs in the medical and biological research area (which is what I am getting into  ). She is also pro-choice, and at this point in time, I would say she agree's with Obama on the 2nd ammendment. She hasn't done anything in the state about this that comes to mind, mainly because the republicans control the state senate, and they all have been too busy fussing with the budget (which they all suck at).

The only bright side I see to this is: Michigan gets rid of this Canadian socialist. (yes, she was born in Canada).

The ONLY reason I am even bothering to vote is because if Obama wins, he can stack the supreme ct. Look at the Heller Decision... 5 to 4.

Otherwise, McCain is an old man that almost appears to be throwing the race. On his stump speeches, he does "okay." But at the debates... He is horrible. And, he record sucks anyway.

All these promises to cut pork, and what does he do... His perfect opportunity to raise hell and point out the "pork" in the bailout bill.... He just votes with it instead.

And, don't get me started on his illegal immigration policies.

Amazing how that topic has all but disappeared from either campaign, and it isn't even part of any debate anymore.

That is a big worry for me. The democrats could have control of all three branches, almost eliminating the checks and balance system. The justices say they are unbiased, but when you look at how most of them vote, they usually are not. From what I've seen, I feel that Justice Alito is pretty unbiased, but I don't know enough about the other ones to say differently.
