When I received my Octane 45, I was annoyed it already had two chips in the FDE coating which I chalked up to either the manufacturer or vendor handling. However, I thought either would be unlikely – SilencerCo would never ship something with nicks, and Silencer Shop probably didn't even remove it from the box. So what happened? Well, looks like the snap retainer that secures the molle strap to the case is metal on the INSIDE and is likely the culprit. The marks line up perfectly with the metal snap retainer inside.

If you have the same setup and carry the suppressor around in the factory case, you might want to put something between the suppressor and the snap retainer to protect the finish.

Yeah, both of my Octanes came in pretty "meh" velcro pouches. But then again, I wasn't really after the case.

That does suck about the scratches. I don't mind marks so much but I prefer to be the one who makes them

Sparrow, Osprey, and Saker were all in good molle cases.

Specwar and Spectre cases are just plain bad!

Can't speak for Octane but I assume it would be like the other old SWR silencer cases.

Edit: the OP case looks far better than my Specwar and Spectre cases which are horrible.

Yeah my osprey came with a pouch like that . I was like why am I getting the can all scratched up? Turns out they resigned the case(updated?) to cover the button. Ill post pictures when I can. If you register your can on silencerco website you can get a free puch hopefully one of the newer ones that doesn't mess with the finish

I just picked up my Octane 45 a week ago. The finish was scratched on it as well and the case was about the cheapest piece of crap you could find. The case top was a fold-over piece of black nylon that left the left and ride side of the suppressor exposed by about 2-3". SilencerShop put the extra pistons I ordered inside the same box and they scratched up the finish

Thanks, yeah I did exactly that this morning - registered and selected a free case. Makes me wish I'd just gone with black. I'm worried if I send it back to SilencerCo to be recoated it might end up worse somehow. I just need a zombie apocalypse or torture test to give the entire thing a good worn look :p

newer on the left . older on the right. Silencerco has 4 size (small, med, larg, xlarge) cases and puts all their cans in either

Wow - just my luck to get the last of the old ones that damage the coating. Hopefully the one I get for registering will be the newer style. Maybe I will have them recoat it under warranty - hmm, makes me want to ask for OD green or a darker tan.

Sorry that happened, I just talked to the shippers and we are now going to put the pistons and such in a plastic bag when shipping.

Well that stinks! But I am sure you will add to those nicks before long. I did hear that silencerco is no longer shipping suppressors with Molle cases and instead send it in some type of bag. Anyone know for sure? I love the molle case!
All the Molle cases are gone. Now it is just a bag like sunglasses come in. However you can register on their site and and they will give you a free shirt or molle case.

I hope this isn't a trend with all manufactures. Having a crappy sleeve in place of a case sucks. Jeremy do you know if they are going this way on ALL their suppressor line?

For the record they were quick to offer a recoat; however, since that meant the white lettering would not stay white, I passed.
