People must use the "10 US parts" rule when doing an SL8 - G36 conversion, because the G36 is banned from importation. The G36 magazine well is a step toward the G36 conversion, thus requiring the rule.
The AR-15 magazine well isn't a step toward the banned G36, but a step toward an AR-15 (as silly as that sounds :?: ), thus not requiring the 10 US parts rule.
That's incorrect. The BATF knows you're not converting your HK SL8 into an AR15 as that's impossible and the AR15Magwell is not a real AR15's magwell, but the name of a conversion that let's you use a US made AR15 magazine.
Also once you insert said US made AR15 magazine you immediately violate the 922r parts count unless you have swapped enough US parts into your HK.
I think with an SL8 you will need to swap trigger groups, magwell, mags/followers, possibly the stock. Not sure though.
Same went for my HK USC to UMP conversion. I had to switch to a US made trigger group, use US mags, US stock, US lower magwell for it to be legal.
The Tigerstripe was a local job done here in CT. Loosk great on a rifle with lots of plastic showing. :?
