One down, several more to go

Yay, my HK SL8-1 arrived at my FFL today. I bought it from a police officer in Illinois, great guy. He shipped it with a TNP AR-15 magazine well adapter, which I plan to install. I think this is the rifle that will end up here in Hawaii with me.

Up next: M17s, FS2000, PS90TR. Then MAYBE a USP/Mk23.

When they all arrive, party at my place!

Yeah, I admit it's a bit hard shelling out all the money for these, but I figure I'll either get them now or get them later; might as well be now. Especially before the election. And I really don't foresee wanting much else afterwards (besides a Barrett and Desert Eagle).
Nah, not yet, but I plan to. I need your guys' honest opinion though: if I have the sock dyed, should I do it in black or dark green? Black looks really good to me, but it's kinda conventional. Green would look a little more unique, especially with the black accents.
Nah, I like it the way it is, especially with that long sight rail.

Does 922(r) come into effect with the AR-15 mag well, or is it just the G36 magazine well? I thought it was just the latter
Oh, yes - I've done my homework, believe me. I'm pretty well on the track to success....
Yay! Only one left!
Wow! Where was that done?

(r) It shall be unlawful for any person to assemble from imported parts any semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun which is identical to any rifle or shotgun prohibited from importation under section 925(d)(3) of this chapter as not being particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes except that this subsection shall not apply to—....

People must use the "10 US parts" rule when doing an SL8 - G36 conversion, because the G36 is banned from importation. The G36 magazine well is a step toward the G36 conversion, thus requiring the rule.
The AR-15 magazine well isn't a step toward the banned G36, but a step toward an AR-15 (as silly as that sounds :?: ), thus not requiring the 10 US parts rule.

That tiger stripe pattern looks really good! I think I like it better than black or green.

The UMP is also banned from importation. My curiosity is going now; I think if I ever get some free time I'll see if I can contact a represetative from the BATFE and ask.

What kind of business is it in CT? Do they paint or dye it? I'd be really interested to find out. Do you know if they have a website I can check out?
Woohoo!

SL8-1 - completed

M17 - completed

FS2000 - completed

USP .45 SS - completed

USP 9mm - completed

26 days and I get trigger time with each, with range reports to follow!

My dad seems to think I'm a misguided youngster, dazzled by the "cool, Hollywood tactical" stuff. :) He's more of a traditional guy, and only likes the SL8-1, which, he says, has a silky smooth action. We'll see though.... me buying/shooting/loving my first AR eventually convinced him to buy one of his own. He says these newfangled bullpups and weirdos are just pricier versions of real guns. :-D
