I have had this FNP 40 for a few weeks now. She's fast becoming one of my best girls, lol.... J/K anyway this gun has one of the best DA/SA triggers out there. Very smooth and not quite as long as the DA trigger stroke on my Beretta PX4 storm. I have put about 250 rounds threw it so far with no problems. :?

I can't really make a comparison, my PX4 is a 9mm.

Congrats on the purchase. I chose the FNP-40 over the PX4 Storm for just the reason you mentioned, the DA trigger pull on the FNP is much better than either the Beretta's or the Sig's. Over 1,000 rounds through mine with no problems. Love shooting it.

Shipwreck - I can't compare the FNP to the Beretta, but I can tell you that the FNP-40 felt recoil is noticeably less than the Glock 23.

Trigger

I have only about 120 rnds thru my FNP40, and I must say that felt recoil is less than on most 40's. Also, the trigger on mine feels almost as good as with a trigger job. Very smooth and predictable with just the right amount of travel.

All right, after months of stewing about it, you guys talked me into it. I just went down to the local dealer and ordered a new FNP 40 with night sights. Hopefully in a week or two I can give my full review (including pictures of course).

FNP40

B52U: Let us know how she performs. I own many handguns(HK,Ruger,S&W,FNH,etc.),but the trigger group performance on my FNP40 is the best I have ever felt right out of the box!! And feeds like a champ. I reload, so I shoot a fairly crisp round, and my FNP40 just begs for more. Hope yours performs as well. Also, you should get a free shooters pack with it,including a Blade Tech holster, double spare mag pouch, and practice barrel.

The extension of the shooters pack offer was a great motivator. Good for FN continuing the deal. I have heard that the 165 gr. rounds are optimal for this gun, have you guys tried any other loads?

I shot some 180 gr. Supreme T-series by Winchester through mine, and they were very nice. Granted, they aren't target rounds, strictly personal defense, but they were nice. I want to try out Hornady Taps. I've heard good things about them.

I have tried the 155 Hornady LE TAP (red box) and it's OK, but the 165 Federal Hydra Shock are much more accurate.

Your mileage may vary of course.
