Just got my FS2000 yesterday, and am looking for recommendations for an optic. I already have an Aimpont CompML on my M4, so even though I love it, I'd like to do something different on the 2000. I'm thinking about either the Aimpoint CompM4 or one of the ACOGs. I've been out of the shooting thing for a few years though, so I'm not up on what the best gadgets are these days.

I'm particularly interested in what those of you who have mounted optics on your FS2000 think is a good mount, and why. How high? See through? Etc.

Finally, I've got lights on all my other rifles, but back when I was putting them on, the SureFire 9P was pretty much the light of choice for the standard 1-inch light. Are the new lights recommended?

Thanks!

Well, what ya need is a C-More with a 2MOA Diode replacement, another EOTech 512?, an Aimpoint CompM4, and a low light ACOG. Probably a set of front and rear pop-up ARMS BUIS too for co-witnessing. That should let ya keep things interesting. :D

I have no experience with C-More but sure do like my EOTech 512.A65, it is 1 MOA and fits right on the Picatinny rail of the FS2000.

Tri power

I actually went with a tri-power mounted all the way up front with an ARMS lever mount and ARMS spacer. In the very back I mounted an Aimpoint 3X mag on an ARMS lever mount with a Samson flip mount. Looks cool and shoots amazing when outdoors. Flip the 3X out of the way and your tapping out 25-35 yard targets.

I really like my setup of an Eotech 552 with an Aimpoint 3xMag on a QD mount right behind it.

It seems like the best of both worlds to me. A 3x scope when needed and with a flick of the wrist you're back to 1x.

One optic that I wouldn't turn my nose up on is the C-More. The diodes can be easily replaced if you want a smaller or larger MOA. The C-More is also compatible with NV gear. Let's not forget that the C-More is in use right now by our troops over in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

I've talked with the folks from LaRue Tactical and they've told me that they will be coming out with an optic shield for the C-More that has their quick-release mounts for use on Picatinny/Weaver rails later this year.

I sourced it locally in Houston. I think the manufacturer is a company called Guntech.

I have actually removed it as this point as I'm in the process of acquring q suppressor for my FS2000.

So what the hell, first emailer that wants its and will post pics of it in their setup is welcome to it.
