Pelican case question

I have a question on layout for my ps90 and a pelican case. I'm looking somewhat more compact. i see a lot use the 1495, and disassemble the upper and lay the gun flat. I see some can get the gun and maybe a mag flat. hat i was thinking, was getting a pelican storm im2600. Its roughly the same inner dimensions as the 1495, but over twice as thick. I have a unused one and was thinking of dissembling the upper/lower, cutting through all three layers of and placing the gun in upright. i am seeing i can then place in multiple mags, the gun, a cut out for the sling, and even a side arm. Has anyone every done something similar? Vehicle Yellow Transport Car Automotive exterior

The case has the plick and pluck foam, so in theory, it should be easy. No part of the rifle would touch the case, and there would be a ton more room. Thats how they do the cameras in this case, so its worth a try.
That looks really good, but for me to put it in that size case, i need to seperate the upper and lower, since i dont have a sbr.
Yep, that's exactly what I did with my Pelican 1600 (L)21.51" x (W)16.54" x (D)7.99".
I played around with a low cost CAD program to find how I wanted things and then borrowed a friend's foam cutting setup. That was a few years ago, today there are sites where you can get almost any foam cut exactly the way you want it, or at least use the site for planning.
MyCasebuilder.com. (For custom work it really helps to just trace and draw rather than use the stock layouts.)
I planned ahead so that if I do ever go SBR, I can still use the existing cutouts with a little modification.
Do you have pics of your case?
