I'm just wondering how much has everybody stocked up on the 5.7x28??
I got a couple 2000 round cases of SS197 (4000 rounds)..I'm thinking of getting more cause it seems to be pretty damn hard to get..But how much is too much guys?? Also I know the 195 and 197 are the only civvie legal options....I don't know whether to keep stocking up on SS197 or get some SS195.. Can anybody tell me which ammo would be good for what?pros/cons opinnions etc.. Thanks hope to get some feedback! =)

Ive got 1250 of 197 and 50 of the 195. If you rarely goto the range like me, then 800 - 1000 is more than enough to save for a zombie day. I know some of the members here go almost every week and probably go through 1000 a month, so for those guys, 10000 may be normal. I know FN says the 195 will store forever like the 197, but I still don't buy that. Thats why I only have 1 box of 195, just as a novelty.

I'm not sure I can have too much ammo but money dictates how much I stock up on.

I recently reduced the number of different caliber guns I had. All my .45s, .38 super, .380 ACP, and .357 mag were sold. I really wanted to concentrate on stocking a LOT of ammo for each caliber I owned so I only kept 9mm, .223/5.56, 5.7x28mm, .22/.22WMG, and .410 bore.

My objective is to keep on hand at least 5k rounds of 9mm, 8k-10k of 5.7x28mm and the same for .223. That's a ton of money tied up in ammo but it's only increasing in price and getting harder and harder to get.

Rule of thumb is to have a minimum of 1000 rounds of ammo for each weapon. when the $%^& hits the fan you won't be out target practicing all that much and say you use 100 rounds in a firefight. you have to survive 10 firefights to be out of ammo.

I for one am going to try and not get into any firefights.

I'm sitting on 1250 of 195 and 2k of 197. I may get another 2k of 197 but my bigger interest was in the brass. Every caliber I shoot is around the .224 and .308 projectiles... or casing... meaning I load for 308, 223, 260 (my precision rifle), and the 5.7x28 (w/55gfmjbt). I've got about 7k each .224 and .308 projectiles, about 500 of the .260. I just wanted to keep reloading universal between 2 base calibers... makes it easier!

Just got my PS90 a few weeks back, I wanted 2000 rounds when I bought it but they only had 750. Midway to the rescue though, UPS dropped off 2000 rounds the next week. Getting ready to pull the tripper on another 2000 and thinking about some reloading equipment. Picked up another 200 rounds this week and the wife and I shot it up.

2750 rounds, only 17250 rounds short of the real zombie killers

5k rounds of stuff I don't shoot. Pack up and save in case they ban the 5.7 round.

Then about 1500rds of rotating shooting stock.

I've got over 5,300 rounds now, basically half SS195 and half SS197, but I've got some SS192 and some T194 thrown in there as well.

My wife has a new PS90 and I have my FN57 so a single small ammo can w/1200rds of SS197 (I prefer the expanding bullet & std primer) is enough to put back for us, the rest is relegated to training.

Yep, IMHO it's the best longarm available for those (like my petite wife) who can't handle anything bigger/heavier. She liked the setup I had on my PS90's so I've pretty much duplicated it on hers: TROS mount, Aimpoint CompC3, enlarged charging handle on the left side, Streamlight TLR-1 taclight w/remote tapeswitch & GearSector ASP single point sling. Heck, she even wants to take the basic carbine course offered locally! (When my wonderful wife, who doesn't mind guns but never had any real interest in them, decides things are getting serious enough to want a longarm for self-defense then it's time to start worrying about how serious things are!)
