OK guys, I need some help here. I have a standard PS90, an PS90 Upper in a SBR and a DPMS Panther Lite AR-15 that I want to use the same silencer on. Needless to say, to accomplish this, I need a flash hinder for each of the three rifles and it must be compatable with a single silencer (that I have yet to choose).

I have been researching several options but I can not find a single option that will satisfy the three rifle requirement.

Suggestions and sources are welcomed.

Thanks

Call a dealer, I don't think this is much of a problem.

For example, I also went SBR (like you did) with my P90 and purchased the Gemtech flash hider.....I am ready for the Gemtech on it.

For $90 i was able to purchase a threaded gemtech flash hider that fits on my standard M4 threaded barrel.

Now my Gemtech....pending ATF approval...can go on either.

I saw that in another thread but it is not the way that I want to proceed.

From your post, I gather that there is no way to change the flash hinder on the SP90 that will also be compatable with the SBR and AR15 rifles?

This makes for an extra supressor for just the PS90. That's a bit much $$$ that I am trying to avoid.

No. I think he is saying that with the out of the box long barrel there is no way to attach a suppressor.

CMMG makes plethora of flash hiders to be compatible with AR-15's. Having said that - you need to SBR the PS90.

There are options to cut the PS90 barrel shroud and weld on AR-15 hider that would accomodate a can. This in and of itself is just grunt work on the lathe - no problems here. The ONE major problem is going to be that

A. The gun will now be fairly long
B. The most important of all - the extra weight so far out will definitely torque the barrel inside the receiver and put severe stress on the front and rear aluminum bushings. I would definitely advise against this approach.

I was - the operating word here - was - going to ream out the front and rear of the receiver and sleeve in SS bushings just for this scenario. However, since steel and aluminum expands at different rates and there is not enough material in the receiver for a key or some other retention mechanism - the long term longevity and seating of the bushing was suspect. Threading one in would require too much material to be removed - again - not feasible.

My 2 cents.

Thanks for the update. It was just a possible scenario that I was throwing around.

Putting a 'can' on the PS90 will be self-defeating and I forsee too many problems with POI due to the floating barrel and the excessive weight that the 'can' will place on the barrel. This option is now out and can be attributed to a 'brain fart'.

I will still SBR my second barrel to put with the second upper that I have. This way, I will have a standard PS90 upper and a SBR upper that both will fit on the lower. I will defer to just the silencer for the SBR as well as the DPMS AR15 AND my FiveseveN when I can afford to get the additional barrel for it.

Cost: A hell of alot of money

I did not give consideration to the weight of the rifle can on a pistol. Yes, looks like this is going to have to be a separate issue.

So now, its a can for the SBR PS90 and the AR15.

Well, I guess that I will have to 'settle' for my Evolution 9 on my HK USP Tactical for a pistol can.

Too damn bad that they can't make a silencer with a spread that could be used with a .22 cal thru 9mm and a different one for 9mm thru .45 cal. That way you would only have to have two silencers to cover all your pistols from .22 cal thu .45 cal. I guess this discussion is better for another forum that deals with this stuff.

Man originally all I wanted was a good 'great' 9mm that I could put a can on and maybe a hunting rifle. Then I found THIS place.

This has turned out to be a most expensive hobby/collection.

Now I am getting ready to pick up another safe as the one I have does fine for my pistols but no room for the amunition or rifles.
