So Today is my birthday and I got my Tros ultra low mount and decided to install it . To my surprise it wont fit. So I busted out my magic calipers and it turns out the mount is straight but my ps90 receiver is not . It has a taper wider in the back and narrower in the front. I assume this is not suppose to be . My other PS90 I had took the mount no problems with clearance on the side. It hasn't been my luck with my last FN guns. Any ideas? I wont be sending it back to FN it is a SBR so warranty is toast

Can you sand the inside and tap it in to place?

Happy Birthday by the way.

My reciever is F** d. The casting is not straight at all
looks something like this
Eye

So it looks like my only options is to get a rail that attaches to the factory screw holes or stay with the usg sight

Is it .960 from the top to the bottom? Or it it normal size at the bottom(.980)?

If so, you could take a big crescent wrench and VERY gently work the aluminum top open just a bit, obvioulsy .02 is not a large amount of movement and this should work. You could wrap the wrench to so you don't mar up the receiver. I personally wouldn't hesitate to do this on my receiver. Aluminum should be easy to bend too, just don't bend it too far

Is it possible this was caused by a vise during the SBR work? Anyway, I'd file .02 off the TROS mount and call it a day.

That is Exactly why I asked the questions I asked, they have not been answered yet?? Let's Try this again;

Was PS90 bought NEW or USED??

Did original Sight fit in there properly??

Who did your SBR work??

Who did your trust engraving??

Any other work done recently??

The PS90 receiver is not strong enough to be put in a vise and was never designed to be put in a vise!! I just had a discussion with an 07/02 S0T Forum Vendor the other day about this exact thing.. If anyone who worked on it put it in a Vise, you very well might have the answer of how it got that way..

PS90 was new
original sight fits fine there is plenty of clearance on the right side of the usg sight
I had my receiver laser engraved locally. I didn't measure the receiver before this was done
I installed the barrel myself and no I didn't put it into a vise
No other work done

You assumed (why else ask these questions) a lot and then screamed when it was not answered immediately (maybe he has you on his ignore list?), and ultimately were wrong in your assumptions.

Remember this folly next time. People come here and ask for help and information, not to be screamed at. Very bad JUJU for this site and a dis-service to all the members.

I would put pressure on the mount, while moving the side of the receiver that is "bent in," just enough to have the mount move into place and call it a day.

You'll be good to go.

You do not want to break the receiver, it is cast Aluminum.

Guess I am not on the Ignore list. Bold face does not mean anything other then not wanting post lost in the mix of posts and last time I will attempt to ask, not yelling..

Waaayy to much assuming by members on here lately!!

OP, as others have now pointed out being cast and not milled the receiver is not ment to be in a vice, and as stated can and will easily bend or Crack if done so. Be sure to always fully look over parts or weapon after it has been worked on before sending it on to the next place as then you can pin point or at least narrow it down when it happened..

No J. Utilizing large bold text type with multiple capitalization's are to get attention (to you) on what you are posting and does nothing to further the conversation in a civil manner. It also means that you are wanting to overstep the remainder of the conversation and this is done by yelling using This Type of Type.

Now, back to our regular broadcasting.....
