So I saw this deal on PSAs website looking for opinions.
PSA 16" CHF Mid-Length 5.56 NATO 1/7 Ultra Light MOE Defender Rifle Kit

It has the FN barrel. I have a few lowers laying around I could use. Funds are tight, so I would have to sell another rifle to help fund it. I was thinking of selling my s&w m&p sport. Was going to try and get 400 for it.

Would you do it?

Based on other companies selling kits, the price is very good, since it comes with the FN CHF barrel.

I have done several builds with PSA kits. I haven't had any issues. I usually reccomended the blemished parts because 95% the time you can't even tell why it's blemished.

I have a PSA that I bought in 2 purchases (a complete lower and a blemished upper). Mine isn't CHF, but regardless my PSA is 700 plus rounds through it of mixed ammo without a single failure. It is accurate enough to hit steel at 200 yards with iron, so I am happy. PSA prices always seem to be good. My set up cost me around $600 after my transfer fees and shipping. So for a plinker go with PSA.

As a side note I did have an issue with my PSA complete premium BCG. They forgot to install all of the gas rings. I noticed that issue when I cleaned it when I first got my hands on it. PSA took care of it, nothing special, but they fixed the issue.

Oh yeah I couldn't find the blemish on my upper. I figured I would blemish it after one camping trip anyway.

Buy it, my PSA upper has been trouble free, the same story for friends that have them as well.

Just one negative, sometimes they are slow to ship, but hey, with their prices I can wait. They are much better than they have been in the past and most of the time they are pretty timely.

Do read this from their listing:

*Please allow at least 15 business days for your upper to ship from our facility. Holiday and special sale lead times can be longer*

Thanks for all the feedback. I should mention the m&p sport I have is the one with the 1/8R barrel. Is it still worth selling for the psa deal?

i noticed the socom melonite deal that's posted. How does that barrel compare to the fn chf barrel?

PTAC is a super budget company that PSA carries. I have seen a lot of bad reviews of their products. I would just stick with the PSA if you are ordering there.
