Hi everyone,

Is it true that's impossible to remove the flash hider on a scar without cut it?
I would like to replace it by a aac blackout but a belgian friend tells me if I would change, I must cut it because it is irremovable.

Thanks for your help

Mine was very easy to remove. One wrench on the jamb nut, the other on the brake. Turn left on the brake, push right on the nut.

I wish all of my rifles had their muzzle devices installed with a jamb nut like on the SCAR 17S. So much easier than crush washers, timing washers, thread locker, etc.
These are a real breeze to time with.

So, for everyone that took the original brake off, what are you running now? Did you leave the nut on or did you all take it off?

I replaced it with a Smith Vortex FH. No jamb nut.

I got my stamps for both the 16 and 17 SBRs a couple weeks ago, and once I finally save up for the barrels I'll probably stick with the FN flash hider until I finally decide what suppressors to get. Of course, I'll have to save for those also...so maybe by 2016 I'll have it like I want it. Maybe.

AAC Blackout MITER, don't need to be timed so no nut needed.

Why the PWS hate? It's loud but works.
Shoot it under a roof or in the woods or in a blind. I cant stand the back blast its just abusive. Its horrible for followup shots especially if your in a group Because you concuss your self and your buddies with each shot.

There are much better brakes if your recoil sensitive. I put the bcm comp on mine because it does a great job.

Yes it brakes a shot but the side effects arent worth the effect.
