Purchasing my second suppressor from Silencer Shop and looking for a reputable dealer in the lower/mid Michigan area to do the transfer. Will have to be a dealer that deals with Silencer Shop Direct. My last transfer didn't go so smooth.. Any suggestions from first hand experience? Thanks in advance.

I was going to respond to something stupid had it all written out changed my mind. But I will add I know plenty of reputable people in MI

My suggestion is if you are buying from silencer shop use silencer shop direct. They will find the dealer for you and it will be a cheaper transfer. If I knew that before I would have saved lots of $$ and headaches. Most dealers in MI when I bring up transfer from silencer shop they raise their transfer fees or refuse.

I use Tigon III. Transfer's are $85 and he walks you through everything and if you're filing individually he'll set up envelopes for the sheriff to mail the forms back to you.

I haven't transferred any suppressors though.

Yes. Aware. However, as I clearly stated in my first post "It will have to be a dealer that deals with Silencer Shop Direct......". When you purchase a suppressor through Silencer Shop and there is not an approved Silencer Ship Direct dealer in your immediate area, Silencer Shop then emails you a list of dealers (in my case all were around 1-2 hours away from me) and has you pick which one you would like them to transfer your suppressor to. I did this the first time and apparently picked the dud.. I didn't go so well. Not really Silencer Shops fault though, just the dealer. So now I'm looking for feedback from others in the mid Michigan area that also went through Silencer Shop Direct but had a POSITIVE experience with the dealer they were paired with. Thanks

I use Freedom Firearms ...in Battle Creek, they are good down to earth people.
Just between me & my budd we did about 8 transfers in the last 2-3 years.
Thanks mjk1. I don't live too far from Freedom Firearms but have yet to stop in and check them out. Do you know if they work with Silencer Shop Direct?

I don't know for sure but it may not hurt to ask ? You could ask for Joel, I will send you a PM. I do know he has ties to GemTech since some of the components are made in MI... He did go on a factory tour. There is some GT data pertaining to cans with nearly 100K of rounds of usage we were discussing a few times...That was 100K of usage without cleaning the can.

They are not one of our SSD members but we would love to have them. Especially since there is a gap in the distance from you. If you do go and talk to them let them know that we pay to transfer to them. If they are interested they can call or email [email protected]
