Are you referring to the current SOCOM series as the "new" style? Or the "war comp" that is coming at the end of the month. If so, they both fit fine. They include indexing washers with a special one for SCAR barrels. The instructions in the package tell you how to orient it.

SF have two lines of cans:

'Legacy'
and
'SOCOM'

they do not interchange - you need the correct FH or MB to fit the can you have. So step#1 is to figure if you are a legacy or a SOCOM, then identify the exact model of FH/MB on their website, or call their CS.

call or email surefire they are friendly folks. ive got an older fa762k recently bought a pair of mossberg mvp in 556 and 762 and needed surefire brakes for both. i called them told em what i had and they gave me a part number i was able to find for sale.

if your planning on getting a can sometime in the distant future you cant rely on them or anyone sticking with any given pattern.

thats what i do with my fa762k. it goes on 3 ar15 3 boltguns and the scar17 762 and 556 chamberings

i dont really like the new socom fh its got a very annoying tuning fork ring like the aac fh do. heard one on the range a few weeks ago sounded horrid. some people like that ringing sound, i dont
