PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS WITH A ROUND IN CHAMBER OR MAG IN PISTOL !!!! gun could potentially fire a round.

If gun slide is pulled back as if to chamber a round with safety on ( hammer cocked and ready to fire ) if safety is pushed past the safety off position the hammer will drop. Has anyone else noticed this. Black FNX-T

This is a gravely dangerous situation. Do not fire this weapon again. Place the weapon and all the papers, accessories, etc., in the original case and send it to me. I will dispose of it in a safe manner. Trust me - I'm a professional.:-x

Wow...the last "pro" I saw was on YouDerp in a classroom spouting some horse**** about kids and guns before putting a round in his own "professionally "special"" self. Notice the emphasis on "special"? If this OP is truly a boot to guns, this FN being his cherry popper and coming to the first site when googling FN and posting a legitimate concern...especially so if the cherry doesn't have a manual. What if his familiarization is with a 1911? No decocker. What you shinning exempleries just did was disrespectful...to the forum and to this individual. To the extent it could cost a future purchaser of another FN. Do I give a wet turd either way? No. On all matters of disrespect. But I see a current flowing on this forum...reminiscent of that turd.

Wespec...thank you for an answer befitting of dealing with someone who is ignorant and not stupid.

Liass...I see you interact with human individuals rather than full time rub sessions with artificial intelligence. Thank you for your contributions.

...as a sidenote - if this is the elite prudish little sack with an even teener weenier chit that is involved with owning FN products and being a part of a community of other FN appreciators, I would gladly give my FN rifles (all 10k invested) to some Obummer voting knob gobbler. This is beyond fu*{tarded and rivals the stupidity members from this site eschewed on The Firearm Blog. Retards wonder why big bro has his hand in ammo and rubbing his balls over M855 when all one has to do is click on any gun forum or blog that does not moderate.

Mods...I am sure this will assure a ban, violation or some other do si do. All good. I have spent the past year or so reading without ever logging on anyhow...give a time or two to support a fellow member through the marketplace and most recently to correct a misconception of "something" not being exactly what it was when a question regarding a product was posed. I have said my peace. I said it in pm's with you guys when you questioned if I had a problem. I believe I made it clear then as I will now again, I think the problem lies with this site beginning to resemble AR15 .facial membership. But that may be due to "dual residency" too.

Big Muddy...not to leave a thank you unturned, I appreciate your patience and contributions to helping OP.

...gwissel as well. Good thought about the manual.

For the stating...I recently purchased a Sig 226 Mk25 for keeping in and around the truck and the wife has experience with her XD, my Glock and 1911's - nothing else. Having the decocker on the Sig is a learning step for her that she must come to trust and master to become proficient with the tool. So anyone who wants to spit at me with their fingers can punch themselves in the face...very hard multiple times, as any argument is invalid. This is why this thread poured the Sweet n Low on my grapefruit rather than the sugar.

I agree. This should be a place to come to and have questions answered. No matter how "silly" or "noobish" the question may be. The questions should be addressed with respect. Being a smart ass or mocking the person asking, to them, a legitimate question shouldn't feel ashamed for not knowing, or embarrassed about asking.

Good choice on the Sig. Make sure you keep it wet. Sigs like to be run wet. Especially grease the rails with some frog lube or something like that.

Dude when you buy a gun that can kill **** you may want to ask whomever you are purchasing it from everything possible. **** get on YouTube and they will have a video someone posted with every detail about the gun. It is crazy to find out that your possible safety issue is actually meant to keep you safe from a online forum. **** like this is why people want to ban guns, people buy them and don't even know the functions of the weapon that is designed to kill.

The OP has 30 posts, so I don't think he's the complete noob that everyone assumes. The point that some of the posters were trying to make is that GUN OWNERSHIP COMES WITH RESPONSIBILITY!!!! At a minimum, that means read the manual. Maybe some basic firearms safety training. Playing around with a potentially life threatening weapon without reading the manual is absolutely irresponsible and inexcusable.

14R - You are correct that some of the responses expressed little or no sympathy with the OP. Perhaps that was well-deserved and perhaps not. But in either event, your response (#12) represents a new low in classless postings.

USbean....I never claimed I was going to be classy. In fact, I am generally let out of the cage when things need said or done that others will not. Gruntworks, amigo, gruntworks. Thank you for seeing the point I was attempting to make. 30 posts on a forum with a thread titled Post Whore for getting posts up means very little to me. I agree with your other point.

mrguy...idiots buy sharp tools that can cut their fingers off all the time - many with no conceptual knowledge of how to properly use one. As for idiots hired by businesses to sell guns - I take anything a gun salesman says with a grain of salt. Sorry, I grew up ranching and training horses...I don't like horse traders. Their job is to sell you a gun - not teach you how to operate one you may or may not buy.

wespec...advice taken on the Sig. Never owned one and thus far, love this damn thing. It appears that I may have found my workhorse. Will run that grease they tossed in the case on the rails. Brand new tool built in 2011 without nary a round through the chamber until yesterday...then it developed this crazy appetite for precious metals.

Some forums are more "unfriendly" than others and some can be down right rude and nasty. The Florida Concealed Carry Forum is a case in point. The're known to verbally attack some posters for little reason and many idolize certain members and kiss their butts. Pathetic.
