The safety switch on my FNX 9 is loose on one side. It's solid on the left side but on the right side it wiggles to and away from the gun by about 1.5-2mm like a loose tooth.

It has been well taken care of and has a little over 3000 rounds through it so far. Should I be calling the service area of FN or just looking for a replacement safety selector? I saw someone was making a replacement out of steel at one time - might prefer something like that if they are still available.

The steel ones aren't available anymore. you can order a new right hand safety lever from Stryker Ent or Midwest Gun Works ($5) or you can try giving Browning parts a call and see if they'll send you one.

The left side is fine because it is molded onto the metal bar that runs through the FCG. Right side just snaps on.
