What optic are you guys with 13" Scar 17s running? Any recommendations I should check out?

I haven't gotten mine in yet, but I am going to have Leupold's new D-EVO paired with an Eotech. It shows a lot of promise. Not sure what you are wanting your rifle to do, but the rig is sure to be pretty quick.

I doubt the BDC on the D-EVO will be anywhere close to the drops out of a 13" 17s.

The reticle was designed to accommodate both .308 and 5.56. How much of of a difference is there in velocity with a shortened barrel?

Leupold Mark 6 1-6x is excellent also

While I like the idea of keeping it light, I'd still like magnification to really get out and still hit decent groups at 300-500 yards. I have a 10.4" AR for the closer range fun and mainly am SBRing the Scar17 so it won't be so unwieldy and long with a Socom suppressor attached.

What are your thoughts on an Elcan 1.5-6 vs Nightforce 2.5-10x42 vs Leupold CQBSS?

Right now I am running a ACOG 3.5 x 35 TA11E-G. Really like it a lot, best suited for ranges up to 200 yards. I have the 16" barrel.

Haven't got my stamp yet but as of right now I'm going elcan 1x/4x... But last week I was for sure going nightforce 2.5-10x24. Who knows what I'll end up with. IMHO the best options are elcan 1x/4x or elcan 1.5x/6x, mark 6 1-6, nightforce 2.5-10x24. Those are the optics near my price range. But it really depends on what you will use your rifle for the most.
