Buying the 17s was the easy decision....which scope to buy is the hard one.
Help me decide. I have a 1000 $ budget and want a 1-6x setup.
Leupold vx6 1-6x with firedot or the vxr patrol 1-4x or GCRS 1-6x .
I wish I could afford the mark6 or z6I or the elcan.
Vx6 doesn't have the bdc reticle, patrol isnt 6x magnification and gcrs doesnt have the mst or the firedot technology.......help
I suggest holding your wallet for a bit and choosing the Mk6. If you don't, you'll find yourself in the for sale section later, looking to sell what you settled for.

Thank you that is a sound advice. One more unrelated question. My brand new scar had some powder residue in the gas block and barrel as if it was fired before.... was this done at the factory? Did yours come the same way?
All complete FN weapons are test fired prior to shipping.

Any component that bears the FN Herstal proof mark has also been fired prior to leaving Belgium.

Everything else gets tested for QA before is leaves the factory, as well as QC hold stations during the manufacturing process.
