Hello all,

I am the proud new owner of a Scar 17s! After a few years of longingly looking, I have finally joined the club. I've been looking into lowers and initially thought Handl was the way to go, but after reading a few threads, it seems more people are leaning towards the Stryker S.E.A.L. Can anyone weigh in on these, or point me to the threads that specifically compare the two? I searched and read through about 40 results, but none seemed to provide a direct comparison. Thanks!

Respectfully,
Matt

These are three photos from different time periods. They all show the same thing. Handl is having issues machining a consistent product. As you can see there are severe quality control issues with the positioning of the safety selector detent hole. Because of this the position of the safety selector drum when the detent engages it changes. Anything that changes how the safety on the weapon operates is a no go to me.

Handl has you to believe that his products have no issues as seen in this video: <br>

Fast forward to the 2:00 mark of the Handl defense testing video. A reamer was needed to open up the hole for the hammer spring support pin. It still wouldn't fit so a hammer needed to be used. they couldn't align it by hand, so they used a piair of piers to move it.

This video was to inspect a Trigger module...and inspection that failed. Upon discovery of the issue it should have been pointed out and the Trigger module should have been deemed as out of specification and had failed inspection. Yet they continued with the install as if nothing were wrong. That is unacceptable by anyones standards. The SCAR25 continues to have issues with fittment. This is irrefutable.

More assumptions made for no reason. Wow, JBLM home of the 7th Infantry Division and support units. I suspect many there have SCAR's and are looking for the best choice for their firearm.

Posting just to post smileys.

OP: Use the search feature. Search for HANDL and you will get pages of results as this has been beaten to death.

There is no direct comparison because the SEAL has not been released in wide distribution but is very near to being so (assumption on my part due to the ongoing threads indicating very near release).

Do a search for SEAL and you will end up with another multiple page return. A much better piece of hardware.

In a nutshell: The HANDL has had/still has problems. The SEAL was in development for a long time to ensure that the fit was damn near perfect, something that the other lower has missed on.

Closed.
