That was a lot to digest, no doubt. The parts of the write up that stuck with me were the ones noting the slower cycling of the SCAR and it's easy to see how that can reduce mechanical loads on various system components, improve reliability and decrease felt recoil energy. This is something I've been thinking about quite a bit myself when I consider the two designs. The attention to small details that the FN engineers took is obvious. And appreciated.

I personally bought the SCAR because I wanted a 308 semi auto and I knew it's what SOCOM was going to. 2700 for a good semi auto 308 isn't ridiculous. I didn't realize what an incredible rifle I was getting. This just reaffirms my purchase of the SCAR. I also may be saving up to pick up a Scar 16 instead of FN15 now. Might as well get something i'm familiar with, has swappable components, and is obviously a better quality and more reliable gun.
