Scope mounts optimized for SCARs

I called Sig to inquire about using their BDX scope on a SCAR 17s. After reading about SCARs damaging some scopes I was concerned that the BDX might be particularly vulnerable due to its electronic holdover/Bluetooth integration with the BDX app and rangefinder. Sig's response was that the BDX would be fine so long as I used a "SCAR-specific" scope mount.

Recommendations for a SCAR-specific mount? What does it do to mitigate recoil that's different (better?) than other scope mounts? Via google, I found that the American Defense Delta mount is specifically mentioned for SCAR usage. Didn't come across others. AD-Delta is a straight-up mount. Does that help? What about just using standard stand-along scope rings?

The Sig rep told me that the BDX scope has a lifetime warranty so I suppose I'm covered regardless except for the aggravation if it breaks. I've read elsewhere that Sig warrants electronics for five years but that did not come up in the discussion.

If you're curious about scope rings I'm using Seekins rings and love them. They are semi-QD also so if you're moving things around a lot on the rifle they work well. The ADM mount is very popular and designed with the SCAR's unique recoil impulse in mind, a lot use that here.
From what I've read, stay away from cantilever mounts on the SCAR because scope vibration is increased. I run the ADM Delta on my 17. Perhaps the solid-built single piece mounts reduce rail flex verses a set of scope rings? Just a theory. Check out the flexing in slow-mo
personally, i am running a Bobro Engineering mount. i would go with some kind of one piece mount if you can.

SCAR/Monlithic Rail Mount

these are well built, best return to zero for QD mounts, made in the USA by a small company.
you can get them with the levers on either side so they are opposite the side you want to run the charging handle.
sort of expensive, but they do offer a discount for LE/MIL.
the article below is showing mounts for AR type platforms, but does also compare QD quality and performance.

I agree that the SCAR ADM Mount is a great choice, I have two friends using it. I personally prefer the SCAR Bobro mounts. I have 7 Bobro SCAR mounts and have had numerous friends switch to Bobro SCAR mount on theirs and other monolithic designs. My closest friends and I all have SCAR’s, LMT’s and new Sig Virtus using the SCAR Bobro mounts. Best mount I’ve ever used. One friend has added a KDG on a 16. They seem nice also. For 17 I’d stay Bobro. 16, LMT, MCX VIRTUS, LWRC etc I think KDG May be a close to equal option for quality, return to zero and ease of use.

I use BoBro mounts on my SCAR. What is really good is I can take the scope off and then put it back on and not lose my zero reference.

I use a Trijicon Accupoint TR25C 1-6x24 scope and A.R.M.S. #22H-L II Hi throw lever mounts. I've been using this combination since 2017 with about 3000 rounds of (mostly) M80 ball and 168g Hornady SuperFormance ammunition fired while this scope and mounts were attached. No issues whatsoever. I also use a 45-degree RMR mount with a Trijicon Dual Illuminated RM04 red dot since 2015. No issues there either.
I keep hearing about how hard the SCAR 17 is supposed to be on scopes. . . . Well, when I am testing handloads for accuracy, I use a crappy Weaver $200 6-24x42 bottom of the line plain crosshair scope and a set of the same A.R.M.S. scope mounts as I use on the Trijicon. I have fired in excess of 1000 rounds of ammunition from 110g to 175g and that cheapo scope is also still operating just fine. I also use it to test handloads on a SCAR 16, several gas impingement ARs, and a PWS piston 300BLK. NO issues. So, I don't know what the quality is of the scopes that all these folks keep complaining about that the SCAR 17 "shakes to pieces", but they must be a lot cheaper quality and more snowflake delicate than this Weaver target scope that I test ammo with. No, I'm not shooting rapid strings or full auto, but it hasn't exhibited any issues at all. Before the 1-6 Trijicon I used a Trijicon 3.5 ACOG scope for several years. It currently sits on the 300BLK. All still working just fine.

You aren't going to try and tell us that the bull**** weekender video represents the internal function of a SCAR are you? That diagram is for a long stroke piston system like a Kalashnikov AK uses, not a SCAR. You need to find another source of reading material. Something accurate.
Oh, did I hit nerve? Did you watch the slow mo part of the vid? That's what I was pointing out. I think there's probably a good reason SOF(? I forget) recommends single piece mounts for the SCAR.

Yeah, his diagram isn't perfect, but it does the job of showing function, which has nothing to do with the flexing shown in the slow mo.

Since you use Bobro mounts and have purchased many of them, where did you find the best deal for that mount thanks
I've got one Geissele and a few ADM mounts. I imagine so long as what you get is solid you'll be ok. Avoid cantilever mounts. As they were designed for the short top receiver rail space on the AR-15’s top receiver, then came continuous rails and people still use them cause they ‘look cool’ and work on a softer recoiling AR-15 in 5.56mm.
I've the ADM cantilever quick release mount with a Vortex viper PST 4-16x50 and have had nary a problem (going on 7 years now) so I can recommend ADM. (I'm using them on about 10 rifles including an M14/M1A, several AR's both with scopes and their aimpoint mount for some Vortex red dots.)

I read through this and it seems that the most commonly recommended are the ADM and the BoBro.

Which one of them is better?
Just picked up the ADM Delta mount for my 17s really like it, extremely beefy took it out with my Vortex Razer HD Gen II E 1-6 and so far it has been pretty dang good for the beating I gave it (didn't throw it or anything just mean using and throwing in range bag and my son actually drug my range bag from the car to the bench lol). I haven't messed with Bobro but the ADM mount is super nice and beefy and being made for the FN Socom contract makes me feel slightly comforted lol. Now I do wish the ADM mount did not have QD, I doubt most people need any type of QD system for their mount.

ADM Delta is 1. Approved by SOCOM for the SCAR. 2. Less expensive. 3. A stronger design, IMHO.

I think the Delta looks better too, so it was an easy choice for me.

Thanks, for the ADM mount do I need one of those extended or SPR sizes like you need for an ar15?

Could you send me a link for the exact ADM mount I would need for a rifle scope like the vortex viper 6x24-50 PST.

Thanks.

Bobro is the ultimate mount for the SCAR. A real good thing is you can take the scope off the rail and put it back on without losing zero. This makes it great for transporting or cleaning the gun
