Gun import bans ... Microstamping of firearms ... Ammunition bans ... The full implementation of the anti-gun UN Arms Trade Treaty ... Illegal amnesty which locks in millions of new, anti-gun voters.
This anti-gun wish list could be part of the secret trade agreement that President Obama is getting ready to spring on the Congress.
This trade pact is called “fast track,” and what it means is that Obama can write any form of gun control he chooses into a trade agreement -- import bans, amnesty, etc.
The fast track authority being granted to Obama and his successor for the next six years applies to whatever type of trade negotiation Obama chooses to enter into.
So, if he can write the UN Arms Trade Treaty into a trade agreement, then it can't be filibustered or amended or prevented from consideration.
Contact your Senators -- no matter whether they are conservative or liberal. Urge them to vote against the anti-gun fast track bill (S. 995). Send a Message

I have been steadfast in my warnings about this TPP on this forum for quite some time. This thing is a sovereignty stealing DISASTER. I compel you to perform due diligence on the limited amount of information that has been leaked. It is a SECRET TRADE DEAL! Need I say more? Some folks on here blindly trust that our elected (so we are told) representatives are performing in our favor. I don't feel that is the case. Please pay close attention to this TPP. They are going to try 'hook or crook' to get this through.

This is sinister. Look over the one leaked section of the document on wikileaks. We cannot allow it to pass. It is NAFTA mutated into a flesh consuming corporate juggernaut running at full speed, and that doesn't even accurately prescribe the impetus on the one section that has been leaked.

Liberal senators imperil Obama trade bill | TheHill

Not sure what is going on here. Why are the Dems against O and the Repubs are for this?
I caught him talking about this by total chance on cspan the other day. My first reaction was "why is he talking like a Reagan Conservative about a trade agreement." At the time I didn't realize this is what he was talking about.

This is probably why the Dems are against it, because it looks like Reaganomics on the surface. Once they realize it's just more corporatist cronyism, they'll be back on board, and the Repubs will start to backpedal. It's secret, and no-one has read it in detail yet.

I’ve Read Obama’s Secret Trade Deal. Elizabeth Warren Is Right to Be Concerned
Michael Wessel is a cleared liaison to two statutory advisory committees and was a commissioner on the U.S. Trade Deficit Review Commission, as well as the international trade co-chair for the Kerry-Edwards Presidential Campaign.
“You need to tell me what’s wrong with this trade agreement, not one that was passed 25 years ago,” a frustrated President Barack Obama recently complained about criticisms of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). He’s right. The public criticisms of the TPP have been vague. That’s by design—anyone who has read the text of the agreement could be jailed for disclosing its contents. I’ve actually read the TPP text provided to the government’s own advisors, and I’ve given the president an earful about how this trade deal will damage this nation. But I can’t share my criticisms with you.

Obama’s Ugly Show of Presidential Petulance

secret trade agreement, Obama is lashing out at them in a pathetic show of presidential petulance.Published: May 20, 2015 | Authors: Jim Hightower | NationofChange | Op-Ed
When the going got tough, Barack got in a huff, and then he got gruff.
President Obama has worked himself into such a tizzy over the TPP that he’s lashing out at his progressive friends in Congress. He’s mad because they refuse to be stereotypical lemmings, following him over this political cliff called the Trans-Pacific Partnership. It masquerades as a “free trade agreement,” but such savvy and feisty progressive senators as Sherrod Brown, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have ripped off the mask, revealing that TPP is not free, not about trade and not anything that the American people would ever agree to.
It is a stealth power grab, written in top-secret negotiations by and for multinational corporations from the U.S. and 11 other nations. This raw deal effectively empowers these profiteering corporate giants to overrule actions by the governments of any of these countries — including ours — that protect consumers, workers, the environment and other interests from corporate abuse.
This gift to the Trans-Pacific Titans is going to expand the rules of trade deals of the past such as NAFTA, WTO and Korea FTA. A few examples of what we have to look forward to with this turd of a deal the president is trying to polish and force onto the American people are: more off-shoring of American jobs, which in turn leads to greater income inequality; higher costs for lifesaving and sustaining medicines; our environmental protections will be under threat of corporate attack; food and product safety regulations will be undermined; net neutrality will once again be challenged; Wall Street reform will be nothing but a memory; and say so long to Buy American initiatives.
Why an American president — especially a Democrat — would embrace this private usurpation of our people’s sovereignty is a mystery, but the great majority of congressional Democrats are not going along. So he’s been publicly scolding them (as though they’re disobedient children), huffily whining that they’re playing politics, “whupping on me” and making up “stuff” about how this deal allows corporations to challenge and even change American laws.
Yet, rather than offer any evidence that they’re making up stuff, Obama gruffly made up stuff about them.
By opposing the TPP, he prevaricated in a recent speech, the Democrats are anti-trade and want to “pull up the drawbridge and build a moat around ourselves.”
The president is on such thin ice with this ponderous giveaway to global corporate giants that his appeals for support have turned desperate, including this recent claim that TPP “is the most progressive trade deal in history.”
Wow, that’s a low bar! Does he mean more progressive than the thoroughly regressive NAFTA? Or maybe he’s comparing TPP to King George III’s East India Trading Company, which was such a bully that it sparked the American Revolution.
Indeed, Obama is doing some bullying of his own. He’s pushing the lie that such Democrats as Warren are lying when they point out that TPP would let foreign corporations sue the USA in corporate-run international tribunals to force our officials to weaken or kill laws that might pinch a corporation’s profits. “There is no chance, zero chance” of that happening, the president barked.
But, as he knows, it already has happened!
In April, under another trade agreement, his own administration was directed by a WTO tribunal to change — and essentially gut — a U.S. food-labeling law that dramatically reduced the killing of dolphins by commercial tuna-fishing fleets. Responding to public outrage over the mass slaughtering of the mammals, our Congress passed an effective dolphin-free law. But some tuna operations in Mexico complained that using dolphin-free nets hurt their profits, and the WTO ordered our sovereign nation to surrender our law to the dolphin-killing Mexican profiteers.
And just this past Monday, the WTO ordered the USofA to change its country-of-origin labeling laws, effectively saying our consumers do not have a right to know where the meat they eat is coming from…

Internet freedom activists, environmentalists, and nuns join the push to defeat the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Twenty years ago, when President Bill Clinton was urging Congress to enact sweeping trade legislation over objections of important constituents in his own party, the face of the opposition were the middle-aged (and beyond) white, male leaders of the AFL-CIO. For President Barack Obama, the dynamic may feel the same—trying to find enough Democrats to help Republicans pass a trade deal—but the coalition is a lot broader. In addition to labor, the president is being opposed by teachers, seniors, Internet freedom groups, and Sister Simone Campbell.
Once the Senate approves fast track trade negotiating authority for Obama, which could happen as early as this week, the battle will move to the House, where it expected to unleash a major lobbying battle. On the one side, a president who is more engaged in legislative trench warfare than he has been in a long time over legislation that would give him authority to establish the Trans-Pacific Partnership. “This is personal for him,” Representative Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, a member of the Democratic House leadership, told Bloomberg reporters and editors.
On the other: a coalition of opponents that is far more diverse than the one that tried unsuccessfully to torpedo Clinton's North American Free Trade Agreement with Mexico and Canada, the first of several trade pacts struck since the 1990s that critics say have cost U.S. jobs and depressed wages.
The newcomers to the fight say they are there because they have seen the results of the earlier trade agreements and now know better. “NAFTA really caught a number of folks off guard,” said Laura Peralta-Schulte, a lobbyist for NETWORK, Sister Simone's national Catholic social justice lobby. Sister Simone became a national figure in 2012, when her Nuns on the Bus campaign opposed the House Republican budget.
Now, she's fighting the White House, part of a faith coalition that includes 47 different organizations opposed to the trade deal, according to Peralta-Schulte. She cited concerns over the secrecy of trade negotiations and the impact on marginalized communities, including populations in Malaysia targeted by human traffickers. “The assumption is you have a trade agreement and something magically lifts standards, but as we've seen in other countries like Colombia, that's not the case,” she said…

Senate advances fast-track trade bill for Obama | TheHill

I still cannot understand wanting to give more authority and surrender oversight on this to the idiot in the oval office.:p I understand that congress will still be able to do an up or down vote on each trade bill, but we can all well imaging what sort of things he will try to sneak through in an otherwise useful trade agreement.

You don't believe they will read through all the fine print in a 1,000 page trade agreement before they vote for it to make their big money donors happy? After all, look how thoroughly they pored over Obamacide (I refuse to call it 'Obamacare' because there is nothing caring about it) before stuffing it down our throats!

Don't forget the hastily passed original Patriot act.

Today was the first time in a month that he didn't have that bottom lip sucked in with a look on his face like he wanted to do something bad to someone, but today it was all teeth and giggling like a fifth grade school girl. I'm sure this is not going to go very well for the old U.S. of A. . When he got his 60 votes, I kinda through up in my mouth a bit.

Well at least we all had a nice little debate over the last couple of days about a flag that apparently caused a mass murder and is almost as bad as guns.
Yep, flags and guns, that's the problem. But please give us more intrusive government.
Sickening.
Stupid sheeple.

Something wicked this way comes...Gentlemen, we are witnessing historical times. "We," being those who are actually paying attention to what is truly happening right now. Many will wake one morning and wonder how all this could have come into fruition, but each one need only look into the mirror. God help us ...
