Atlantic is taking pre orders now for SOC U.S. security contract WASR 10 rifles. These are well worn well used Iraq and Afghan war veteran rifles supplied by the U.S. to security contract forces.

Pretty cool! It's not often you can get a complete modern weapon with that fresh from the sand box smell...They are pre-ordering for $469.00, which is about what you can get a new one for, but depending on how they sell, the price may drop. I bet Obama and their ilk are seething that these are being allowed back into the country! I kinda want one! cool conversation piece. I think I saw somewhere where there may be some AR's available as well...not sure from who, when or where.

It makes no sense these were used by Security Forces since they are semi-auto used for security in a country where everybody else uses full-auto! No warranty etc. Wasr's are really the lowest quality AK's made and if I had to get one it be better buying one from Century which at least do have a warranty!

I think It makes perfect sense they are semi rather than full. These were security forces from places like Uganda, and not front line combat troops. some had probably hardly ever held a rifle until they signed up for a job. Most probably never shot their rifles under fire.

The point of the rifles is that they have been to Afghanistan or Iraq, and back. It's got sand, dirt and wear from actually being there which is a large part of the appeal. No one is going to expect a warranty on what is essentially a battlefield "turn in" rather than a BPU. Even though "Battlefield" might be a stretch. It's like buying a world war II rifle or pistol. Except that it is from a much more recent conflict. and not as good of quality.... I will be the first to admit Century Arms is pretty crummy, but unfortunately they are not offering Arsenal or Krebs rifles

I just thought they were pretty neat for what they are. if I was going to buy another WASR, it would be one of these over a new WASR any day.

I actually brought one off of a security contractor several years ago. Never had an issue with it, it's been used and abused like a 3rd world AK and it's still going strong.

Why bought WASR and issued them to the locals where real AKs can be had for cheap over there? I don't get it.
Because the WASRs are American supplied. They probably couldn't risk buying AK bulk overseas.

They are more likely used for training programs than actual issued rifles for soldiers. The one I got the seller specifically stated that they were used in training.
