Does anyone know what S&B uses for their metal jacketing? I can't find what they use anywhere (including their site). It's not copper and looks like brass to me. It is also not steel as it does not react to magnets.

Also, is this ammo decent?

I bought 500 rounds of 40S&W last year and it ran well in the FNP9, SIG P226, SIG P239, and SIG P229. No complaints here, but I have heard others call it cheap and unreliable. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another case if the price was right.

Which ammo do you have?

I got the 115 gr. brass cased fmj. The jacketing on the lead core looks like brass to me. I'll probably go shooting tomorrow and will run 150-200 rounds through my FNP-9.

I got a case of it for $199.95, which was about the best price I could find on brass cased ammo.

Also, TA, how did you run 40 S&W through your FNP-9 :?

All the S&B I've seen locally and bought has been brass cased (I think the box even mentioned it) and has worked reliably. The .223 hasn't been the most accurate, but that's more a problem with it being too light for my 556.

I have a ton of .223 S&B ammo, seems to run well through all of my AR's, but my Mini-14 didn't like it as much. I think once the rifle started warming up, the lacquer on the casing was starting to make it sticky when trying to eject.

I've used their 9mm in my FNP. It shoots just fine but is much dirtier than the federal stuff I usually shoot. You can't beat it for the price though.
I found the brass cased S&B to be cleaner than WWB. Haven't shot any federal.

yeah i also have noticed that the S&B does shoot a little cleaner than WWB. I have had no problems with S&B.

I've used their 3 1/4 '00 Buck 12g and was very impressed. They DECIMATED an old ammo can at 15yads with one shot!!!! I'll try to get a pic of the can.
