Based on all the pics I have seen online it appears the P220 Scorpion should have a cerakoted frame that matches the slide. I just picked up one I ordered this week and it has an anodized goldish frame identical to the Combat however it is the elite frame with the beavertail and Sig rail. Have they made a change recently or did I get an oddball one? Thanks for the replies.

I got mine last year? it's ALL cerakoted, slide, frame, all the same color and finish.

It would be interesting in hearing if they changed them but the last one I saw 6 months or so ago was still cerakoted.

Interesting.

My LGS has one exactly like this, with the combat style anodized frame.

I too think it's an abnormality.

Knowing Sig, and what they do, they probably have run "short" on ceracoated lower frames, but had ceracoated upper P220 elite slides and assembled a few guns to keep the volume flowing to complete their run for the year.

It's definitely different. At first I hated the look, now I'm highly intrigued of the thought that they might not be made anymore.

Very interesting.

Congrats on your purchase!

So, I've been thinking, that gun would look AWESOME with a black coated slide.

And, you could take it 1 step further and Black ceracoat the slide, and swap the grips with the black metal Elite Dark grips and have a wicked looking gun with the gold anodized frame. Of course there wouldn't be much left at that point that is Scorpion.

I had a couple of the Combat models before and ended up trading them away as I never really liked the gold frame so then I ordered a Scorpion and damn if it doesnt have the fkn gold frame too, cant win on these 220s. On the plus side the g10 grips are thicker than the combat models and fit my hand and feel much better and I like the beavertail too so who knows. Not sure if I will keep it or trade it away. Will run 100 rds or so through it and see.

Dude I originally didn't want the gun when I saw it, because I thought it was ugly and wrong, but as time goes on, I really want it BECAUSE it's different.

I'd say enjoy your purchase & be thankful you have a factory produced oddity!!

I have to agree I'm not a fan of the gold FDE they used on the combat 220, I know there were a lot of guys b!tching about the Cerakote chipping on the edges of the sig rail so maybe they went back to the anodizing to satisfy those complaints.

If you like the Scorpion I'd consider getting the frame Cerakoted, I checked the chip chart and my Scorpion matches the H-265/C-246 FDE color.

I'm not a fan of the gold but I don't hate it enough to have the frame coated I dont think but i appreciate the color info as I may change my mind. For now I will just shoot the piss out of it and see how I like it.
