Sig P220 Scorpion frame color

3694 Views 29 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  tf04479
Based on all the pics I have seen online it appears the P220 Scorpion should have a cerakoted frame that matches the slide. I just picked up one I ordered this week and it has an anodized goldish frame identical to the Combat however it is the elite frame with the beavertail and Sig rail. Have they made a change recently or did I get an oddball one? Thanks for the replies.

Thanks, will take some pics of mine and post when I get home. Colors look like a Combat frame with a Scorpion slide on mine or the Scar edition since its 3 or 4 colors haha.

I would prefer the cerakote frame but oh well. It's not like they just used a combat frame as it has the beavertail and sig rail not picaitinney like the combat, it's strange really.
I had a couple of the Combat models before and ended up trading them away as I never really liked the gold frame so then I ordered a Scorpion and damn if it doesnt have the fkn gold frame too, cant win on these 220s. On the plus side the g10 grips are thicker than the combat models and fit my hand and feel much better and I like the beavertail too so who knows. Not sure if I will keep it or trade it away. Will run 100 rds or so through it and see.

Several on GB for around the same price last I checked, but yeah thought it was fair is why I ordered. Had I know it had this damn fkn ghetto frame I
may not have though. Oh well will either have to learn to love ot or move it.

I will shoot it alot before I get rid of it as it just feels right. The short reset trigger feels very nice too. Still dont like the gold ass frame though haha.
Throw in a SKS with a broken stock and you have a deal.
I'm not a fan of the gold but I don't hate it enough to have the frame coated I dont think but i appreciate the color info as I may change my mind. For now I will just shoot the piss out of it and see how I like it.
Still not a fan of the look of the anodized frame but after a few hundred rounds I think it is a keeper. By far the best shooting and most accurate 220 I have owned.

I will check the build date on mine tomorrow and see, I think it's in the same time frame as yours. I was going to sell mine as I wasn't crazy about the frame color but it's such a great shooter I am keeping it for now anyway.

The one I got is such a good shooter I don't really want to swap it for another but that's good to know that there is an option to do that.

I think I got the light off a dealer on Ebay, it seems good, I have since moved it to my FNP tactical though.
