Sight Problem - Excessive Windage

I spent some time today at the range fine tuning my sights with different loads. I currently have it sighted in for SS198. To switch to AE 40 gr I have to come up 13 clicks. But the windage is the same for both loads.

My concern is that my rear sight is pretty far off to the right to be on target. I could actually use to go a few more clicks to the right to be dead on, but I don't want the rear sight hanging off the side of the gun!

Anyone else find they are way over to the right? Do you think this much adjustment is normal and within factory spec? Any reason to consider sending it back to FN?

I dont have that problem with the fixed sights and as I've said before I stick with the high speed rounds.

It better not work that way. Anytime I have had to send in a firearm for warranty repair, I am always issued an overnight shipping label by the manufacturer. S&W, Adams Arms, AAC, Glock, Springfield etc, always issue return shipping labels for warranty repairs. If FN doesn't, this will be the last FN product I buy. But I am sure they do. I am guessing you have luckily never had this experience before with having to return a firearm to the manufacturer.

I emailed the pics of the rear sight to FN. We will see what they say.

Already sounds like horrific customer service. That alone is bad CS.

"Thank you for supporting FN products.

Recommendation for windage: Remove the plastic slide cover and drift the actual rear sight, with a brass punch, to the right at the base of the sight just slightly, then bring the screw adjustment back left to zero for windage.

The elevation is normal because the SS198 is traveling 400-700 fps faster than the SS197 or ATK AE40 and the slower ammunition will strike lower on the target.

Let us know if this helps."

How do I remove the plastic slide without doing any damage?

How To Remove Plastic Slide Cover?

I am having an issue with excessive windage on the rear sight, and FN recommended I do the following:

How do I remove the plastic slide cover? Any videos or links? Thanks!

NEVERMIND I FOUND A DESCRIPTION OF HOW TO DO IT.

But I don't see how the slide cover will go on straight after I move the rear sight over, the is no extra opening, or extra space in the opening for the rear sight in the top of the cover to leave room to move the sight over? Confused.
