Can you imagine SNL doing a skit about incest using OBAMA???
It was aired Saturday 9/20/2008. Interestingly they have pulled the skit off of youtube and other viewable places. Hmmmmm.....

The skit is New York Times reporters in the newsroom discussing Palin stories.

REPORTER #1: What about the husband? You know he's doing those daughters. I mean, come on, it's Alaska.

REPORTER #2: He very well could be. Admittedly, there is no evidence of that. But, on the other hand, there is no convincing evidence to the contrary -- and these are just some of the lingering questions about Governor Palin.

SNL ANNOUNCER: In 2009, Howland Gwathmey Moss, V was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his timed series on unproven yet un-disproven incest in the Palin family. Sadly, he was to die three months later run over by a snow machine driven by a polar bear.

You had to see the skit. They weren't implying anything about Palin. They were making fun of the NY Times reporting staff. The whole skit was about the Times reporters being out of touch with Palin, Alaska, Polar Bears, etc. I think everyone is missing the point - it was actually pretty funny which is rare for SNL these days.

I understand and rape and incest are terrible, horrendous crimes. However, the original poster made the comment that SNL was implying that Todd Palin may or may not have been involved in incest and that was completely missing the point of the sketch. The entire sketch was about the NY Times bias towards Obama and their lack of understanding of Paling and everything Alaska. In no way did it imply that Todd Palin was actually in an incestuous relationship. We can and should bash SNL for their obvious liberal bias, but this was not really the example that the press is making it out to be. I just hate to see good comedy go to waste

I am voting for Cynthia McKinney anyway......

I heard that too but I am not sure its relevant who wrote it.

ETA - I had heard that it was the first skit about McCain that Franken called Seth Myers (head writer) and purposed the idea. Not the NY Times skit.

Should that matter?

If I were a McCain/Palin supporter, I would have taken more offense to the opening skit where McCain is approving obviously false ads. That skit was funny but was a shot at McCain. My only point was i think a lot of people didn't see the skit and aren't getting the joke. I am not defending SNL, just saying I think folks missed the point.

Frankin is a super far left guy - I think it matters a little... But what do I know.

Doesn't matter... as O'Neill stated in another thread - we're gonna be commies/socialists soon....

Even from the transcript you can tell the bit is about reporters making up stories. Only a complete idiot could watch that and think otherwise. Most SNL skits hit you over the head with their jokes anyway - nothing subtle about them.

And as for the video being yanked - that is normal. SNL skits and many other TV clips are getting hard to find on youtube.

So... It would be funny to see a SNL skit with a couple reporters saying Obama does his kids? Oh... Yeah... That would be funny.

that alone would tell that the Palin skit was over the top.
